I knew about VHS Head before Meatbingo, but thanks anyway.

Edit: a previous discussion on the merits of both

Ah. I remember that discussion. I did eventually buy Persistence of Vision on your recommendation (it took me ages due to payment issues with the Bleep website - got my bonus disc, though) and you were exactly right. It takes a while to mentally unpack it, but it's probably his best work. Many thanks.

Great though PoV is, I think I still prefer Trademark Ribbons Of Gold, it's got more bite to it.

In recent months he's supposedly completed three (mini?) albums which are yet to be released.

Interesting. I totally rinsed PoV in a way I never did with TRoG.

Susanne Sundfør - Fade Away

Every time it comes on I have to repeat it several times before I'm done with it. Last time it got rinsed was two days ago on the train home.

I'm completely captivated by how much of a stunning, utterly perfect pop song it is. The synth solo that's bookended by the "This is the kind of love that never goes out of style" bridge is pretty much beyond compare - on numerous occasions it's given me endorphin rushes that have brought tears to my eyes.

Neville Chamberlain

Cardiacs - Made All Up

Not sure whether it was five times specifically, but the last time I was sitting at home getting gently pissed on booze I listened to this a number of times in a row. The last song Cardiacs ever recorded, it being the final track on the final single. So may reasons to shed a tear or two listening to this.

Mild Euphoria Morning walk

It's that lovely chord change innit. Plus it presses my nostalgia buttons, like walking around a new town with Robin Nedwell.

X - I Must Not Think Bad Thoughts.

https://youtu.be/YMbn3hGkpeo

Every so often Spotify's algorithm gets it spot the hell on and it did in this case.  A beautiful accompaniment to my commute trudge from a band I'd heard of but never heard. I did deliberately play it five times just so I could mention it in this thread (I know you check) but it was a entirely my pleasure.

One from the vaults

Aaaah yeah that is one addictive tune. I remember hearing it on John Peel way back and would not leave my head for days

A simple and beautiful sounding song about being a undertaker and having to bury kids. Wise Blood.

And this totally addictive perfect work of lo fi bedroom pop. Best Boy Grip-Reptile

That "Mrs No 3" one that came up here recently.  Great tune!

Orinoco Flow by Enya is absolutely fucking mind-blowing.

I'm still not done with these two..easily the best versions of these songs written recently.

So Long Marianne by Leonard Cohen. Sigh.

I once played that intro, up to "I'd like to try and read your palm", about 20 times in a row one long night. It's just beautiful and tragic and those pricks who say he can't/couldn't sing are heathens. That delivery is wondrous. Good choice of song.

Yeah, great song. I think that, The Sisters of Mercy and The Partisan are my most played.

Picked up a copy of Paralell Lines recently and I've been caning it ever since. All about the ride cymbals.
