Sin Agog

Been repeatedly watching this clip of Plastic People of the Universe sister band/revolutionaries who changed the Czech Republic with Vaclav Havel, DG 307, as my Czech neighbour claimed he was in the audience.  Not seen him yet, but I do love their elemental fodderstompf.  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RaNjmivU_-Y

Languid and looped (from Giles Peterson in Brazil). Perfect with a glass of 'fucking' Merlot.

Ignored this thread because I was like "I NEVER PLAY SONGS 5 TIMES IN A ROW" and then this came out this week and played it about 15 times. Sparse electronics, drums, shouting about trans issues: https://anxiousmusic.bandcamp.com/track/not-passing

Sin Agog

Accidentally got Strawberry Switchblade's Go Away stuck on repeat while I was cycling a couple of days ago, and my cheapo mp3 player's too fiddly to easily change it, but that song's so lush and gorgeous and '80sy I had no complaints whatsoever.

Robbie Basho - Green River Suite

I've dabbled with Basho in the past, but this has gripped me recently. Incredible voice and guitar.

Sin Agog

Aye, Robbie Basho is one of the best.  Think I read that he died at the chiropractor's, which is frightening.  I like a strong massage as much as the next person, but-

Cuellar

That song makes me want to up sticks and live in a cabin in Wyoming, just sit by a river, look at mountains. I've hunted and killed stuff in Red Dead Redemption 2 so I reckon I could make a go of it.

'You Were Gay and So I Fucked You' by Bruce Dangertits

An instrumental of a K-pop track which is the right mix of 80s, modern production and video game boss battle music which makes me power through work.

Hey, Punk!

Coil's The Last Amythest Deceivers. It is easily the best track on The Ape of Naples, it sounds like a posthumous track with the repetitive tired voice of John Balance seeming to comment on his own death. I've regularly listened to it when walking at night. I'm a total Atheist, but it is moments like this that almost make a spiritualist of me.

Since first hearing Robbie Basho a couple of years back I can't get enough. As wonderful as his guitar work is though, it's "Orphan's Lament" that would be my 5 times in a rower - and that's on the piano!

I've been on a detroit techno binge recently, and this particular Kevin Saunderson song is glorious

Pauline Walnuts

Dated production, but I like the sneeze,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYOh63Y7Xsg

and the audacity of the 'I'm a casualty, baby'  bit is still impressing me. You know for 1988.

Cuellar

Just heard this and haven't listened to it five times in a row yet, but I bloody well will. Blew my socks off. Exactly the sort of thing I'm into.

Cor that's good, didn't know that. This is the Saunderson I find myself playing a lot

I like a bit of folk but find folk-rock not so appealing, but I've listened to this Pentangle track, which was new to me, about fifteen times this week. Actually it's not very rocky. Good tale too. The King demands that the man who slept with his daughter is brought before him to be hanged but decides that the bloke's so hot he can see why she was up for it and all is forgiven. I love it.

I'm in one of those moods where I need the happy sads. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzifvLnwF_I
Melts me down.

I've never knowingly heard anything by Wilco before, and I've always thought they would be boring folk-rocksters, but recently I heard One Sunday Morning (Song for Jane Smiley's Boyfriend):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xa2XnouRXKo

Which I've more or less had on repeat since, and considering it's 12 minutes long, that's saying something. Turns out I quite like the singer's voice, and I've always been a sucker for these driving, slightly melancholy acoustic rockers. See also Sometimes by James:

Who I've also never knowingly heard anything by before, except a Biosphere remix of She's a Star (which is good).

Gay Bar - Electric Six

Robert Palmer - Simply Irresistable.

Absolutely bangin' pop tracks. No irony here, they get me pumped and are addictive.

Ornlu

Neomod

If this banger had been an undiscovered 80's J-POP track it would have been feted.

As it is, it is in fact Bonnie Langford (out of musical theatre) and I have to live with that.

It's a shame they don't collaborate more (Bamboo Music is similarly brilliant).
