This live performance of Moonage Daydream at the final Ziggy gig (Hammersmith Odeon 1973).

So fucking good. The studio version is one of my fav Bowie songs, this blows it out the water.

Ha, me too.

Also Weller's Todd Rundgren-esque On Sunset

He needs to watch that Elton vibrato though. Dangerous.

I am slightly stoned, it's absolutely pissing it down outside and I have the window open. I am listening to this at a sensible volume, all is well in the universe.

We must be in sync, I have played the 20-odd minute title track of this album definitely more than 5 times this week.

I read this thread then listened to this:

five times in a row; I am a fraud, this song is not.

May heaven bring peace to your balls.

Grizzly Bear - Neighbors

Maybe I'm just a sucker for enigmatically dark lyrics,

... I write your name down, with a sense of dread ...

or Droste's lilting voice

... could see you everyday ...

or the flow of the chord progressions

... we'll watch our bodies break, not a care in the world ...

but it's like being swept into tumult and transfiguration, when I listen, hesitating to give that absurd affirmation of loss

... that's the way you play ...

Part Time - Honey Lips

great fun to sing along to the ridiculous muppet backing vocals

Sin Agog

I'm getting queasy from playing the b-side to Jun Togawa's first single so many times.  The way it begins and ends on these eerie drifting strings keeps on making me want to play it again straight away so I can get to that fucking chorus.  If it had gone out on a fade I wouldn't have repeated it anywhere near as much.  The a-side's alright- nothing she does is ever bad- but I love this song so much.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Taw82gMT54

Astonishing new Bill Callahan song from Gold Record called The Mackenzies.

I play everything that comes up in this thread and so should everyone else. This is really, really lovely. Callahan has passed me by, but this is kind of Lambchop/Tindersticks without the off-putting vocal style (I love Staples, don't get me wrong).

Two from Kylie on the Confide in Me single. The A side's a banger but I didn't realise she covered 2 favourite bands of mine on the B side.
