[techy] Converting video to mp3...possible?

I want to convert a few stand-up DVDs I have to mp3, and possibly some dialogue-based sitcoms too (Only Fools And Horses, Men Behaving Badly etc)...is this possible? Does anyone know of a program that will allow me to do this?
