Are there no right-wing bloggers on medium anymore then?

The simple solution to this problem would be to stop using platforms run by people who view your work as hate speech and use ones that aren't. Medium.com is a bit of a hive of wet pseudo-progressives anyway, so surely someone diametrically opposes to such people would choose a different platform?

True and I advocate that approach, but when people questioning the establishment narrative in, say Syria, are squeezed off mainstream platforms online (newspapers and tv go without saying) - medium, google, facebook etc, that have the most eyeballs on them, that is a big problem. Especially when those platforms often stand as the supposedly progressive 'fact-checking' voice protecting free speech against 'hate' and 'trolling' and 'misinformation'.

QuoteIf they're publishing misinformation then why not?
What is or isnt misinformation isnt just a fact, it's a worldview. Truth is 'misinformation' if it upsets the powerful.

Obviously the answer is to ditch these platforms, but when the corporations with all the money and Orwellian governments are working hand-in-hand, the alternative platforms are rapidly becoming non-existent. Though there's always St0rmfr0nt I guess to facilitate anybody even slightly questioning government narratives. Almost as if there is a concerted effort to push all dissenters into the arms of the full throng far-right, but that would be a conspiracy, so I certainly won't suggest that.

And am I right in thinking that while 'Lunatic' Mike Cernovich has been banned, all that's happened to 'anti-war' people is that someone on twitter said 'and what about [anti-war] person'?

What's that platform all the alt.righters flee to after they get banned from Twitter, so they can moan about Twitter and wish they were back on Twitter? No, not Menshn, there's a more recent slightly more successful one.

No there's lots of other things happening, a general assault on alternative news site - from google demoting anti war sites, to the chilling effect on russiagate skeptics, hamilton 68, demonitization on youtube, the neocon propornot list of 'fake news' sites that included stuff like consortiumnews. Dangerous times.

If the poor sods get chased off the net, what's next?  No more parades with banners?  Not even allowed to dress up as Hitler?  Sad days indeed, bless their poor little pointy heads.  :(

Trying to get round the sentiment of "reddit somehow isn't racist / misogynist enough, let's create anuva"

Dangerous times indeed, as a lot of this was kickstarted by the Nazi march in Charlottesville, the one where the Nazi drove his car into a load of people thus killing one. What's also dangerous is people trying to say "hey there were some lovely Nazis there too" and also "ah but what about the alt.left Nazis eh" when there's a counter-narrative to try and push.

Indeed, I remember a certain member here blaming the murder in Charlottesville on the "Sorosian agenda"...

Few people tried to blame the killing on a heart attack due to bad health lol

...and then the anti war activisits - https://twitter.com/shane_bauer/status/966762111450910721

Amazing to see a high profile writer on a mainstream publication calling for anti-war bloggers to be banned from the biggest blogging platform on the web. Its sympathetic of how the corporate media, even those on the left, are completely under the spell of the empire and its doctrine of endless war.

Anyone comfortable with having these neocon media whores, themselves in the thrall of their own conspiracies and bullshit, deciding what is and isn't a 'conspiracy theory', or 'misinformation'? Because be certain if you think its a good idea to censor the right, next will be anyone who strays from the centrist war state 'consensus' of establishment politics and media. We are already seeing the latter happening on google, with dozens of anti-war sites been de-ranked in favour of mainstream outlets banging the drum.

He isn't calling for people to be banned because they are against the war in Syria is he? You can be against war in Syira and still claim that other people who are against the war in Syria are spreading misinformation.

doppelkorn

I'm confused here. Are people suggesting that some of the information on the internet might not be true?

biggytitbo

Ahh yeah, that billionaire oligarch who can never do anything wrong and must never be criticised. Meanwhile, this is just fine -

No, I said that event was engineered to cause a conflict between two warring sides - as a divide and rule tactic, in exactly the same way the CIA and state department use assets like Soros - with his fake 'democracy' building (eg neocon regime change) Open Society to do the same thing with their regime change fake color revolutions in places like Georgia and Ukraine.

It sad that you're so easily distracted by lame panto - someone waving a bit of old rag on a stick, that you can't see you're having your strings pulled by a massive global death machine.
