Season 05 has The Waitress is Getting Married and The D.E.N.N.I.S. System, the rest of the episodes could be dogshit and it'd still be a decent season. Luckily the rest of the episodes are amazing.

And there's "A Very Sunny Christmas," which was technically produced as part of season 5, then released on DVD, airing later with season 6.

What are the ruuuuuuuhoo-hoo-hooles?

I can't stop singing the songs from that episode.

I've been thinking about this and giggling to myself today https://youtu.be/yJYKpJ7ur9M

The bloopers for that scene are also great https://youtu.be/bfQbNfZp_tg

You BITCH!

I just watched the high school reunion episodes and laughed heartily at the reveal of Mac's full name, Charlie's underpants disintegrating when he gets wedgied and the end dance routine with Mac growling like a wounded bear.

Even 3/4 Kings Of Leon being it didn't spoil my amusement.

Dr Rock

All the injuries Sweet Dee gets while working in the Chinese fish factory.

I'm gonna say "My man!"

Dr Rock

Holy fuck Chardee MacDennis 2: Electric Boogaloo, I haven't stopped laughing since the bugle came out and the marching, and now I have to pause because the reveal on the horror round was too much. Ok I'm going back in. God I love this show.

Bhazor

One of the best. Starts off one of the best seasons too. Amazing to see how good they can be after 11 seasons.

Dr Rock

For the physical stuff, I realise they must sometimes use stunt people, but I can never see the join, I always believe it's the character. Tickled me that in the ski mountain episode when Charlie cruises down the slope very slowly, and then crashes into the chairs and tables they needed a stuntman who could also ski.

SteveDave

I saw "The Gang Broke Dee" on Friday and I was wide eyed with amazement at it. I watched it again yesterday.

Utter Shit

I watched the episode where they kidnapped by the McPoyles the other day, fucking hell it is brilliant. The overacting from Liam is so funny.

It's Dennis that makes the ending for me. "He's probably gonna go kill himself, ha!"

I've been laughing at this painting for about 15 minutes.

New Jack

^ that captures a certain je-ne-sais-quoi about the man behind the DENNIS system

I was watching the water park episode in Series 12 and there's a bit where Charlie and Frank go down the not-yet-opened super slide. There's a cut when they splash land into the pool where the camera goes underwater and it's Frank and Charlie for sure, making me unsure if they used doubles... it's well done, the camera going underwater is where I'd do the switcheroo, but it's seamless!

Bhazor

Well given "The Gang Goes To Hell" I have to imagine they do a lot of their own stunts.

Watched that one recently too, I lost it when Liam gets stabbed with a fork and throws his glass of milk over the wound.

The Night Man episode might be the landmark only musical episode of a sitcom that doesn't annoy the piss out of me. It's... Hmm, legendary seems a tainted word... Good!

Weirdly I was in the shower this morning and Sweet Dee's improv "just to be clear, I did not write that song... just to be cleeeeear" bit at the end of the first song was stuck in my head.

madhair60

Back on this now. Saw "Who Got Dee Pregnant?" and, er, the one after that.

Edit: "The Gang Gets a New Member"

I love all of Dee's little songs she does. Like in "Frank's Little Beauties" when she forces that girl to do the 'Mums Stink' song:

They're nothing but a big humungous pain in the butt
A big humungous pain in my vaaaaagina

New Jack

Dee's (Well, Kaitlin Olson) the MVP. Took her a few episodes to get warmed up - felt like she was standing around being the Only Sane Woman - but such a great performance

Yeah Kaitlin Olson's delivery is one of my favourite things about the show. When the lawyer is reading their mum's will and she gets angry and tells the lawyer to tell her mum that 'I will be in touch with her, somehow'

And of course this: https://youtu.be/ET5WurW2j5A?t=57s

Dee finds her marks during season three. Kaitlin Olson was a late addition to the original cast after the pilot, as the production company wasn't keen on hiring Rob's girlfriend, who had played the part in the pilot, because it could get nasty between them, which actually contributed to their breakup. Olson won the part over comedians such as Kristen Wiig. So, during season one, they were still assessing her skills next to three comedians who knew each other for much longer. Season two, they gave priority to new character Frank. It's only during season three that they started to take advantage of Olson's physical comedy and made a frustrated talentless comedian with a need for validation out of Dee.

New Jack

Too right lads. Plus she looks like a bird!

The fancy dress party episode with the ostrich was superb. If not strictly 'her' performance.

I think her physical comedy is probably the best out of all of them. Gets proper stuck in (a bannister)

Not enough people talk about Jack Kelly, for my liking. I reckon it's one of the great supporting sitcom characters/performances.

Here's a clip of all his bits:

The one that slays me is when he meets the main lawyer dude at 8.05. His mesmerised voice and face, the repetition of the other guy's sentences, it's incredible. As the comments say, nice corpse from Dennis at 7.13. Or there's that furtive sideways glance (from 13.15) when he says 'my hands tell a story...of greatness!' Some good Frank bloopers here: https://youtu.be/XZGiczmT_0c (5.26 sums it up...instant corpse just from the way he pronounces one word)

Man, Jack is great. Thing I love about Always Sunny is how well whoever is playing the straight man acts. Case in point 'the implication' - I find myself rewinding just to see Mac's confused facial expressions. Same with Dennis, often plays the exasperated straight guy. The way they switch this up is fantastic and always feels natural. I guess being long time friends helps them do this -
