Hard to take what they say on the issue of the Saudis when they have big adverts payed for by the Saudi propaganda agency in their paper.

In case you don't know dfrlab is run by the Atlantic Council, the neocon regime change 'think tank' that essentially acts as the PR division of the military industrial complex, and all the people on their 'troll' slide are anti war activists.

Jakey Chesterton

This is some change of tack for Al Jazeera:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVXCkcwHjO0

(espicially considering Al Jazeera Arabic put out this a few years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULtNYSUqYHw )

Is this because of what's going on between them and Saudi Arabia? Or just an aberration? Dunno.

Mr_Simnock

Good to see someone showing up the UK and US for what both governments are up to in the region, not covered enough.

The fact people are able to tag and follow each other one twitter has OUTRAGED warmongering neocon 'thinktank' the Atlantic council, as part of their noble crusade against PUTIN TROLLS - https://medium.com/dfrlab/trolltracker-from-tags-to-trolling-58bb2ef87acd

A peace deal is causing 'fears' now (presumably if you really like wars)

'Why do we have all this military hardware in Europe?'. Why indeed?

Perhaps it's the nature and implications in the detail of the deal and its unilateral nature, rather than the 'peace' part of it?

Incuriouser and incuriouser...

biggytitbo

Anything that could conceivably lead to smaller military budgets is what they 'fear'.

Paul Calf

You seem to have a lot of faith in the proposition that a 'peace deal' between Trump and Putin that weakens Europe would actually lead to peace.

https://www.kyivpost.com/ukraine-politics/parubiy-to-visit-france-uk-on-june-10-15.html
QuoteChairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy will make visits to France and Great Britain from June 10 to June 15.

From June 12 to June 15, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada is to visit London and Edinburgh, where he is to meet with Minister of State for the Armed Forces of Great Britain Mark Lancaster and British Minister of State for Europe and the Americas Alan Duncan.

There Parubiy meets with Speaker of the House of Commons of Great Britain John Bercow, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Commons of Great Britain Tom Tugendhat, Speaker of the House of Lords of Great Britain Norman Fowler and Chairman of the Committee on Defense of the House of Commons of Great Britain Julian Lewis, and Speaker of the Parliament of Scotland Ken Macintosh.

Also, the delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine headed by Parubiy plans to attend an hour of questions to the first Minister of the government of Scotland.

https://www.thenation.com/article/the-ukrainian-far-right-and-the-danger-it-poses/
QuoteAn equally disturbing reason is that Ukraine's far right enjoys the support of two extraordinarily powerful politicians: Parliament Speaker Andriy Parubiy and Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.

Both men played a critical role in harnessing neo-Nazi street muscle during the winter 2013–14 Maidan uprising that resulted in the ouster of corrupt, albeit democratically elected, president Viktor Yanukovych. Parubiy's ties with the far right go back decades: He co-founded and led the Social-National Party of Ukraine, which used neo-Nazi symbols and whose name, according to Der Spiegel, is an intentional reference to the Nazi Party.

Although Parubiy has not been formally affiliated with far-right organizations since the early 2000s, he has spoken fondly of his past; when prodded to repudiate his background in a 2015 interview, he insisted that his "values" have not changed. Parubiy's history served him well: He was responsible for organizing ultranationalists into Maidan "self-defense" units that made Yanukovych's overthrow possible, and assured Parubiy a prominent role in the new government. (The information that the man spent over a decade leading neo-fascist organizations was conspicuously absent from press releases during his 2015 and 2016 visits to meet with members of Congress and Washington think tanks.)

The BBC caught lying about Syria again:

The OPCW report makes no statement about what was used, it says its still working on its final conclusions. What it does state is that nerve agents weren't used, despite the massed might of the mainstream media, 'experts', think tanks and warmongering politicians asserting that it was, mainly through taking the word of the terrorists they're backing there at face value. I seem to remember sceptics of the US and UKs claims back in April were dismissed as Assad apologists and Putin puppets, as is always the way.

This is precisely why we always take action , such as launching missiles at non existent chemical weapons installations, before there is any investigation - its just an excuse to take action regardless of how true the pretext is (see also Skripal).

biggytitbo

To demonstrate that, here's Seymour Hersh on the BBC expressing the same scepticism and he is asked if he is 'an apologist for Assad and by extension Putin' - https://twitter.com/daily_politics/status/1011579461156782080

ZoyzaSorris

Yes, the OPCW clearly states no signs of any nerve agent use was found and the most they could rustle up is that some traces of chlorinated organic compounds have been found, the significance of which has yet to be determined. Chlorinated organic compounds being pretty commonplace things in many contexts. From this, the BBC has somehow managed to shamefacedly report that chlorine was definitely used. Basically the whole thing has already been shown to be a total sham.

biggytitbo

According to medialens, not a single national newspaper has reported the OPCW finding no nerve agents used in the April Douma attack, despite pretty much them all lining up to unquestionably cheerlead the bombing raid based on the false claims of the US and UK that nerve agents were used.

http://www.middleeasteye.net/columns/british-mps-should-be-ashamed-helping-trumps-plans-regime-change-tehran-705209156

As you may have noticed, since Trump brought Bolton and Guliani into his government, the campaign against Iran has ramped up massively, we've had the reckless scrapping of the nuclear deal on the back of Netanyahu lies, this Iran regime change conference Oborne talks about above, attended by all the usual neocons and some British MPs, and most worrying of all, the courting of 'paramilitary death cult' the MEK, using our now familiar strategy of portraying useful terrorists as freedom fighters (also see Libya, Syria) as part of yet another regime change operation.

In the light of these pyscopaths trying it on again, this time terrifyingly against Iran - a conflict that cannot possibly be anything other than an unmitigated disaster on every level, what does the BBC do? Try to expose a story of such massive importance? Cast some light on the neocon lunatics pushing for WW3? Nah, what it does instead is curiously start pushing emotive stories about human rights and the plight of women in Iran, specifically framed to push our Liberal Western buttons.

As medialens put it, where liberal tears flow, western bombs soon follow.

Jakey Chesterton

Found it quite funny how candidly imperialist this youtube presentation from a neocon thinktank was:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=344&v=AlyRxuXLOio

(bolding from the video)

Quote
- Maintain a US military presence, sized to the task

Complemented with a no-fly/no-drive zone to prevent ISIS's regeneration

deny these areas to Iranian backed forces supporting the weakened Assad regime

and prevent an Iranian "land-bridge" to the mediterranean

Quote
- Work out an understanding with Turkey in the North

to permit the US to excercise control over 40% of Syria's territory

including the resource-richest tier of the country

That last point sounds like he's talking about a game of Starcraft.

Quote
- Ask our Gulf Partners

provide assistance to northeast Syria to promote its economic well being

find alternative markets for the region's oil and agricultural exports

Hmm what could have prompted oil billionaire Ayman Asfari to launch his "The Syria Campaign"? Must just be a really committed human rights lover or something.

Rest of it is standard ISRAEL ISRAEL IRAN SHIA ISRAEL  padded out with anodyne managerial/pr speak.

biggytitbo

You have to congratulate the neocon's and how they've simultenously infiltrated Trumps government to push for more wars and rebranded themselves as part of the anti Trump resistance, thus we have psycotic war criminals like Bill Kristol getting retweeted by liberal celebs on twitter and George W been treated as some kind of wise elder statesmen, both because they can pose as 'respectable' moderates next to Trump, whilst simultenously trying to engineer a new Cold War and push for an attack on Iran. Great work lads, and you know full well nobody on the msm will call you out on your horrendous machiavellian hypocrisy.

biggytitbo

US foreign policy 'expert' tweets this inversion of reality and supposed liberals like and retweet -

Honestly, if you think Trump is the big problem with US politics when the so called resistance to him has ^^ that mindset, then I think we're doomed.
