You have seen Star Wars, right? Good/common stuff that's passed you by.

I haven't read 40 shades of grey, or it's sequel (s).

I am stuck on the 5th book in the Game of Thrones series, and have only ever seen the 1st episode of the televised adaptation.

Never watched Downton Abbey. I've never seen a badger in the wild. I have never drunk red bull, and never eaten a pineapple fritter. I've never listened to an album by Cat Stevens, Nick Drake or Bob Dylan, despite loving the song or two I've heard by each. I've never farted openly in public, and I've never been on Twitter.

I've never seen a stripper or been to a strip club.

I could go on, but I've already said too much. I wondered if anybody else on CaB has lived such a sheltered life?

I could probably go on

imitationleather

I've also done none of the things you mention in your post (although I've never seen or read any Game of Thrones as I can't stand stuff with dragons). Nor have I seen Star Wars.

Sheltered life.

thraxx

I've never heard/seen:

Coronation Street.
The Voice.
Gangnam Style.
One Direction.
Strippers.
Had cock up arse.

That's still like 5,000 pages into the books though isn't it.

Never listened to this. No idea what's on it.

Maaaaaan Dark side of the Moon, and the Wall, and Wish you were here, are the soundtrack of my early 20s :) you've got a surprise in store.

I'm quite certain you do know it really though.

Yeah it is, so I don't know why I included it. Meh, least I can say I've had anal sex repeatedly, both ways ;)

Bobtoo

I haven't seen Star Wars, or done most of the things in the OP.

Icehaven

I'm a librarian so often I'm called on having not read a number of the recent-ish book phenomena (Harry Potter - I'm an adult, ditto Hunger Games, GOT - don't care for fantasy, 50 Shades - oh pur-leeeease), but I don't have to justify myself, I'm not reading kids books, shit about dragons or badly written porn just because lots of muppets that normally wouldn't touch a book have, feck off.

Dr Syntax Head

I haven't watched more than half an episode of game of thrones. Nor do I want to. The bit I saw had a woman stroking a dragon. That can fuck off straight away.

Danger Man

Nope.

I know it's by Pink Floyd and that's enough for me.

Captain Z

Only things I've done from the OP are drink Red Bull (a few times with vodka in my early 20s, not for at least 10 years now - you're missing nothing) and been to a strip club (rubbish. So I'm going to get turned on but I'm not allowed to touch you or myself? And I have to pay you money for this?). My only exposure to GOT has been through the South Park parody.

kalowski

Also never seen GoT. I find it weird that people who may have mocked me as a kid for playing Dungeons and Dragons will get excited about the latest series of GoT. At least I was a fucking kid.

Dr Syntax Head

I've never seen the last season of Sopranos. I'm rewatching it now and on season 5

I've also never seen the last season of Mad Men.

I fucking love both these shows

Hahaha! Yes. I cannot stand fantasy stuff with wizards and dragons. I loved LOTD as a kid, bores the fuck out of me now

Never seen/heard/read

Star Wars. Although I could probably work out the plot from the constant bombardment of memes/references/merchandise etc.
Jaws. I gave up after half an hour.
Any of the Back to the Future sequels.
Harry Potter.
Game of Thrones.
50 Shades of Shite.
The Sopranos.
Walking Dead.
The Excrement Factor/The Voice/Britain's Got Imbeciles/Masterchef etc.
Mrs Brown's Boys.
Life On Mars
Anything with 'reality' or 'celebrity' in the title.

Butchers Blind

Never read any 'classic' literature.
Never seen a 'Fast & Furious' film.
Never been to a zoo.
Never taken any illegal drugs.

magval

Like Danger Man, I've never heard that Pink Floyd album either.

Or seen Schindler's List.

bgmnts

Only seen 10 minutes of Schindlers List, only seen the first avengers film, havent read harry potter or game of thrones.

Vodka Margarine

Most US sitcoms
Breaking Bad
The Wire
Back To The Future - all of them
Star Wars since the 80s
Star Trek since the Bald Shakespearian years
Wrestling since about 1993
Doctor Who since David Tennant and his David Tennant face

Vodka Margarine

Small Man Big Horse

I'd never seen Jesus Christ Superstar until yesterday as I'd been put off by the Andrew Lloyd Webber element, but I should have because it's fucking excellent.

I've never seen Funny Girl or Funny Lady due to Barbara Streisland, but I saw What's Up, Doc? a short while back and was seduced by her a little so plan to rectify that soon.
I watched pretty much every episode of the Comedy Bang Bang tv series but I've never listened to a second of the podcast.
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Once Upon A Time In The West and A Fistful of Dollars. But I have seen Dances with Wolves. :(

Breaking Bad
The Wire

You would be treating yourself very kindly if you made an effort with these. If not both then The Wire at least

Claude the Racecar Driving Rockstar Super Sleuth

I've never read any Charles Dickens
Never listened to any Beatles, Stones, Bowie etc. albums in their entirety, outside of what I've heard my folks play.
Though I'm considered quite the cinephile by my friends, there are plenty of classics I've never seen.

I'm still young (ish) but lately I've been feeling that there's just not enough time to consume all this stuff, much less form a deep understanding and appreciation of it. I've got loads of things bookmarked on Netflix that I wonder when I'll get around to watching. I'll sit there for ages, scrolling through the list, then I usually end up just rewatching some old favourite instead.

Lord of the Dings? One ding to ruin their no claims bonus.

Not that anyone needs to watch it, but Game of Thrones starts out fairly light on the fantasy stuff. It's more of a political thriller, set in medieval times. By the time the dragons turn up, you'll probably be hooked by all the characters and skulduggery. That was my experience anyway. Then again, I don't really understand why some people have that particular hang up. I knew someone who refused to watch Lord of the Rings, but loved Star Wars, even though that's just high fantasy in space.

Wow. Not even as a kid, sort of semi reluctantly in the summer holidays?

No,  not even on a school trip.  As an adult now they hold no interest for me as i feel sorry for the animals locked up for crimes they haven't commited.  I do understand they have their uses though.

Claude the Racecar Driving Rockstar Super Sleuth

There are lots of games that I haven't played, too. A friends gave me the complete Elder Scrolls series more than a few years ago and I still haven't got around to even installing any of them. They're just too vast.

Crabwalk

Doctor Who? Nope.

Star Trek? Nope.

They're both shows that I didn't watch as a kid and have no way into now, so that's it.

VelourSpirit

Haven't seen a single western. I know the tropes through cultural osmosis, and played Red Dead Redemption, but I was never really fussed about actually watching a film. Just seemed boring, aesthetically maybe. Just some people going around and shouting about gold or something. Only recently decided that I do want to watch the classics eventually, mainly because if I'm going to watch Jim Jarmusch's take on the western genre in Dead Man then I sort of want to know what a normal western is like. Thing is I want to get through some Kurosawa films first so I can go 'oh yeah that's like that Kurosawa film', whichever one is the one that Leone supposedly copied. THING IS I just have a childish aversion to old films and that's really bad but I've just got too many lesser known films that sound a lot more interesting, even though it pretty much always turns out these classics are actually interesting.

Captain Z

It would be easier to list the blockbuster-boxset-US-drama series I have watched:

24 (series 1-4)
Lost (series 1-2, gave up 3 episodes into s3)
Twin Peaks (series 1-3)

That's it. I have not and will never watch any of the others.

It's certainly the best thing ALW's ever done.

I've never seen The Sound of Music. Odd because in general I love musicals, but for some reason I've just never had the slightest interest in seeing that particular one.
