I presume a mungout is more thorough then a jugout, which sounds like it only takes half an hour and scrapes the surface.

Historically when a Mungout was performed with less than adequate gob levels it was far too dry and resulted in both the giver and the givee abandoning each other mid stork. Over the years the phrase 'Mungout too dry' has morphed into today's modern idiom of 'Hung out to dry' to indicate being abandoned and left to finish yourself off.
