Funny as I've just picked up my old save game and thought I might bother actually completing the main quest.

Just reinstalled on PC with the OpenMW engine and some mods.
OpenMW is brilliant btw, runs better and much more stably. Bit of .ini editing to load the mods but reasonably painless.

I remember my friend buying this on Xbox big block original, and him saying come over and see this game he picked up on a whim. We both agreed the combat and graphics were pretty ropey, after putting in a year of play time, I put it in my top games. I never found the same magic in the latter ES games

I bought Morrowind about a year ago on Steam and could never get away with it but I think I've conditioned myself to the newer Elder Scrolls games.

I'll give it another go eventually...

*spends 1 hour deciding on the best build for a character*

*gets off the boat, does the Seyda Neen quests*

*takes 40 minutes to walk to Balmora at a fucking snails pace*

*gets cornered by a rat, is unable to land a single hit*

*says "fuck this" and uninstalls*

At least once a year this happens.

Mate, doing it all wrong, you have to jump over the mountains to Balmora.

You have to go straight to Caius Cosades' house, kill him, steal his skooma, sell the rest of his possessions to buy more skooma, overdose on skooma and skirt across the surface of the ocean at supersonic speeds until you can rocket yourself up the side of the mountain that has Azura's shrine, allowing you to gain enough momentum to leap over Ghostfence and into the Red Mountain stronghold to reach Dagoth Ur and abuse the Sunder/Keening glitch to beat the game in under 5 minutes.

Playing the game any other way is just silly.

I'm beginning to wish I'd done that rather than investing hours doing Mournhold quests, only to hit a large stone blockage as a result of dropping/selling my Dwemer Satchel Packs.  Fucksakes.
