Extremely small moments in comedy that make you laugh way more than intended

Benjaminos

Some episode of King Stupid or another:

*end of round klaxon*

"And that noise tells me.. nothing at all. I don't know what it means, where it came from, or who's responsible."

It's the 'who's responsible' part that really tickles me, for some reason.

Sebastian Cobb

Larry David's 'no' as the woman in the seat next to him pulls out dental floss on the plane.

Killinaskully series four, episode three - The Crime Spree. The second scene of Timmy picking up subliminal messages in his Big Sean records. Joe Rooney's utterly demented expression as he gleefully replays the message (said loud and clear in a suitably demonic voice) sells it.

vic and bob, the club, "you are bastard in back of tv for the inspectors to see"

bgmnts

Rewatching some old SBC stuff and his little facial expression after "no Jew" fucking kills me everytime.

The Mollusk

Chalmers: Do you think they actually filmed this in Atlanta?

Bart (exhausted): I don't know! I don't think it's important.

Chalmers: Yeah...

Chalmers' question about a completely banal detail and his half-listening response whilst never taking his eyes off the screen is such a brilliant little non-joke. Just the most boring and lame character observation from an individual whose professional capacity is being a scathing ball of contempt. That "Yeah" always gets me. He didn't really care what answer his question received, he just wanted to vocalise his curiosity. It works so well that you see a whole other dimension to the character with the most minimal input.

Brilliant. Like Conrad Veidt in the Man Who Laughs without the makeup. Is that Father Damo?

Always loved this one as well. I love the phrasing of Bart's reply. Not "I don't care", "who cares?". It captures that exhaustion perfectly.

Not seen this episode (or futurama ) In a decade but this line comes to mind often. Just pure rage.

Watched Peep Show 'Funeral' (last episode of series 1) again last night, when Jez is doing the Enya speech at the funeral. He's said the word Enya about a million times and when he's about to say 'Enya' one last time he pauses, nods and pulls a really pained face, simultaneously realising how laboured and arbitrary this metaphor is and willing himself nonetheless to say it one last time to make his point. Subtle but great choice by Webb.

Blue Jam

The "corporate video"-style intro to Corporate where the Hampton DeVille employees are all being forced to smile and pretend that working at Hampton DeVille is a great laugh and not at all soul-destroying. It's the blonde woman in the middle of the frame, right at the start. Something about her disturbing rictus grin always makes me laugh:

"I'm just pickin' flat leaf parsley and flickin' it at your ass."

In Archer after Mallory loudly whistles to get everyone's attention, there's a general murmur of annoyance followed by Ray shouting "Whistlin' bitch!"

It's nothing written down, but Ive just spent five minutes laughing at it.

Gurke and Hare

petril

Richard Herring's rhythm as the oul' fella giving it UP YOURS DELORS is a lovely little moment of character

Gurke and Hare

"I didn't fight in World War 2..... admittedly." is such a great joke and delivery.

Fr.Bigley

Dunno why but been listening to a lot of Brian and Roger recently and the episode with the casino has one line in it that I can't help but laugh out load at. The bit where Roger tells Brian about the EDL march and he's goes "Its gunna be TASTY" - just the delivery from Harry Peacock...outstanding.

markburgle

"You're living in the past Den, those cunts haven't made a documentary since the World at War!!"

Just the dismissal of everyone at ITV as cunts really tickles me for some reason

Manuel's 'manaher, him manaher'  bit in the Mrs Richards episode of Fawlty Towers.

It is brilliant. Though I remember Rich on the commentary saying that later they discovered that Rowan Atkinson did basically the same joke.

Much like "you are men" being funnier than the more obvious "orally men" line!

I've been thinking about the Major's, "No, no, no. I won't have that. There's a place in Eastbourne."

Icehaven

In the Parks and Recreation episode about Andy's TV show, just after Ben and Andy have been fake knighted the way Ben stands in the background looking in wonder at his hands just really made me laugh.

Fambo Number Mive

Last of the Summer Wine series 20

Barry and Wesley, along with the three men, come to rescue Edie and her coffee group as Edie's car is stuck. Barry has a torn trouser leg.

Glenda: "My Barry came so quickly he tore his trousers"

Reaction shot from Nora, Edie, Pearl and Ivy. The double entrendre is only hinted at from the other ladies but it still made me laugh for several minutes.

Barry got tugged off by every woman in the town. It's a known fact.

This guy in Malcolm in the Middle:

"I never had the honour of serving in active combat, ...."

Icehaven

Feel Good series 2, when George is speaking on stage:
"Can I get a whoop whoop?"
Crowd: total silence.
Faint voice: "Huzzah!"
"Thankyou Dad."
