Shoulders?-Stomach!

But as always, adding some modern touches along the way.

For ages I've felt like a curmudgeon having to turn my nose up at new music, but all I was doing was waiting for my turn to arrive.

I have to say I'm fucking loving all this new stuff. Hooks, choruses, delicate use of synth, guitar riffs, snappy drums.

The debut self titled Alvvays album is wall to wall bliss, not a remotely dud song on it. The opening one-two-three salvo of 'Adult Diversion', 'Archie, Marry Me' and 'The Ones Who Love You' is just showing off, really. Their second one that came out recently 'Antisocialites' has its moments but pales in comparison a bit. They covered obscure-ish Deerhunter b-side 'Nosebleed' when I saw them touring the first album, as if I could have possibly loved them more at that point.

Reckon you'd dig the new Soccer Mommy album an' all then. It's good!

The whole album, Nocturne, is a great one for this

Beach Fossils are one of my favourite bands, love this summery one of theirs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_Yt2LcCqrk
They did one with Wild Nothing too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbShcDjEenk

I never bothered to listen to the whole thing but I see it in my recommended feed all the time. Seemed like they were just trying to be Mac Demarco. It is quite nice though actually, different enough.

Thank Youtube's recommendations algorithms for this. Great song!

Some odd recommendations on there sometimes but I guess it exposes you to things you wouldn't necessarily choose to listen to.

Thanks for these leads, just the job as spring finally happens and turns into early summer.

^ I went to see The Orielles the other week. They and most of their fans look about nine years old! I felt like I was chaperoning a birthday party.

Bring your kids to work day at 6Music.

only thing in this realm that has done anything for me is The Courtneys.

Moonshine

Aye, The Courtneys are great.

Frankie Cosmos is another I'd recommend. Loads of stuff on Bandcamp and three studio albums to boot.
