Saw this last night in the beautiful Malvern Theatre cinema. Surprisingly good, I thought. Peake smacks it out of the park as usual. Looks like a superior TV film but I think that serves the material well. It's more of a serious film than a comedy film, which is why I dropped it in here, though there are some comedy-nerd laughs (nice reference to Bob The Tray) sprinkled throughout. Most people will recognise the jokes in the sets set in the workingmen's club era. Not entirely sure what the later, 'established star' sets are meant to be, like Victoria Wood doing Beckett? Anyway, five bags of popcorn and maybe a Paddy Considine Funko Pop.

I remember reading about this last year, will it get a broader release at all?

Sebastian Cobb

I imagine it will. I managed to miss it at the cinema.

Fingers crossed it makes its way to Australia or else gets put online somehow.
