I take it you've never seen Parenthood?  It's a great film and Reeves is very much playing a 'dude' character (and says "dude" a fair bit too).

Unfortunately it's being directed by Dean Parisot.  Galaxy Quest is great, but everything else he's done film wise sucks massive balls.

And Parisot's next two films?  Remakes of Slap Shot and The Lavender Hill Mob...
