Seeing as Brundle done a music one... we've been here before, but Phill Jupitus is in the video for Billy Bragg/REM colab 'You Woke Up My Neighbourhood', and Bragg's 'Sexuality' (with the aforementioned McColl involved too)... plus here's them doing an amusingly rude version of it live. Jupitus is clearly mates with Billy.

Is that also Brenda thingy in the bed? The one who played the page 3 comedy character?

I was going through some boxes in my attic, looking for a book, when [funny name] crept out from under some old jackets.

That was my hilarious impulse when I saw the thread. But what would be a funny name? I'm useless at this.

Doug Benson was in an episode of Friends:

He also famously appeared as a dancer in the Michael Jackson special "Captain Eo", but is apparently hard to spot.

Jupitus worked ad hoc for Go!Discs and Bragg commissioned him to direct three videos for that album because Jupitus was getting married and needed the money. The Go! connection also explains why he is in the Housemartins 'Happy Hour' video reading the newspaper at a minute in (on this edit)

Crikey, never spotted Jupitus in the 'Happy Hour' vid before! I think I heard that Jupitus worked at Go! before, sounds familar.

In the 'Neighbourhood' video? Dunno, but it does look a little bit like her.

Also Keith Allen and Matt Lucas in Blur's 'Country House' video.

Allen's not much a surprise given that Alex was well in with that whole wretched Groucho Club set at the time. I'm still convinced the subject of "Charmless Man" was supposed to be him, even the actor they got for the video bears a passing resemblance.

Lucas makes a guest appearance as a televangelist in Ben Folds' "Jesusland" video. I wish they'd used someone less recognisable to be honest, as it's an instant immersion-breaker whenever he pops up.

I guess that the only Americans who know who Matt Lucas is are those who post to this forum and Courtney Love, and what with this being an American production I guess the record label thought he was a perfectly fine casting choice. But to those of us in Blighty... yeah. You imagine that the music's going to abruptly change and Lucas will start shouting about peanuts.

A pre-90's TV ubiquity Tony Slattery shilling for SodaStream in 1985.

At 2:34 mark.

Jesus, that Harvey's Bristol Cream ad is pretty shocking. I'd have guessed 1975, not 85.

I thought it was some boxer who was a fellow guest on the Parkinson show, presumably not the time when Rod gave Parky a good going-over.  The boxer apparently whispered to Hull, "If that bird touches me, I'll break it's fucking neck and your arm."
It wis Billy Connolly as a co-guest on Parkinson.

That's the fella. Was it her?

Also, was surprised to see Limmy turn up as a window cleaner in an episode of The IT Crowd

Cheggers had the role of Fleance in the 1971 film of Macbeth directed by noted diddler and appalling cunt Roman Polanski. On a nicer note, he played the lead role in "Robin Hood Junior", a Children's Film Foundation movie.

Child Cheggers also appeared in the COI short film Betcher! (1971), cycling very properly indeed unlike the rascal 'Butch', as judged by the pop singer Peter Noone.

Comments under that

Every so often I find an upload of some old 70s / 80s thing on Youtube that has a comment section that's nothing but "GRR GRR BLAIR DESTROYED THE WHITE RACE".
