Soupy Sales needs to be in this thread.

Sure most of them are urban legends, but he's too awesome to exclude

At least his gag about getting kids to send in those green pieces of paper with presidents' pictures on them (easily found in mummy and daddy's purses and wallets) really did happen

GamesMaster had loads of these, my favourite example being Dominik Diamond saying "right now, there a loads of teenage boys, the Country over, sat in their bedrooms, waggling their joysticks and quite literally coming [LONG PAUSE] around to the sensation of on-line gaming".
Gamesmaster was pure filth. One I particularly remember was Zoe Ball on a motorcycle arcade game, Dominik introduced his co-commentator by saying he was "no stranger to having something big and purple between his legs", and then during Zoe's race when she was undertaken by opponents he said something like "a couple of them have slipped inside her but she's managed to beat them off..."

Wasted on Brooker isn't she? Bet he tells her to get out of the way of the telly when he's watching it.

That's way filthier than I remember.

I approve.

There's also the Bollywood dance scene she did. The last ten seconds is exactly how I imagine sex with her ends.

The now universally banned 'dream sequence' episode of Pingu which features a genuinely fucking unsettling and chillingly realistic portrayal of a leopard seal hunting his prey in the form of the child penguin.

https://youtu.be/29GrZyQEwXM?t=2m42s

Or the episode of Pingu where he goes to a bar, downs a number of unspecified drinks (that make his eyes spin in his head) and then returns home to urinate liberally all over the floor.

To be fair, that probably does reflect quite a few childrens' home lives.

With Pingu, I'm more worried about the fact that he appears to be voiced by Damo Suzuki during a performance of Peking O.

This is a really obscure old memory, but... anyone remember The Children's Channel? I used to watch it before going to school, and one day presenter Emma Freud was trying to explain Pee Wee Herman (maybe a movie had just come out or something?)... I'm paraphrasing from ancient memory, but she said something like he "puts mirrors on his shoes to look up girls' dresses and things like that", or words to that effect. I couldn't believe my burning ears that morn.

What a fucking annoying voiceover. Was it really intimating that he didn't know exactly what he was saying?

SM:TV

I've also mentioned it before, and I believe one of the people responsible for the sketches actually posts/ed on here, but in the early days of SM:TV Dec used to play his 'obsessed with Sabrina the teenage witch' character, and Ant told him that although Sabrina hadn't replied to his letters, Salem had sent him something:

Ant: "Here, catch it" (Ant throws the package)
Dec: "Wow what is it?"
Ant: "I just told you"

There's no such thing as an inappropriate moment in kids TV - it's just a moment that isn't appropriate yet.

Josie D'Arby saying "Mr. Penis Face" instead of "Mr. Peanut Face"

Not on Youtube. Possibly just another febrile teen dream.

It is funny because she says penis.

When eldest was wee we used to watch Nick Jnr Classics.  It had all the..well, classic kids TV from when we were lads on it.

Rainbow is an absolute gold mine of dodgy gags, suspect messages and health and safety nightmares.

Kids being told that if they feel sad they should 'find a quiet place for themselves and keep it all in', scenes where youngsters go off to play in a haybarn, the same sketch sees a young girl fall off a five bar gate into a puddle full of bricks, and that's before you get to Zippy's near the knuckle comments.

My favourite was one where Freddy was looking for his percussion instruments.  He runs into the room and goes 'Have you seen my clackers?'  Zippy spits his tea out and goes 'Pardon?'

I don't know if you've ever seen it but there's a classic bit where they're all doing this exercise routine off an old LP.

Geoffrey, Bugle, Rod, Jane and Freddy on the floor, Zippy and George behind their desk.

Left leg, right leg, right arm, and so on.  They're all pissing their pants as they do it.  It's glorious.   I think it's the fact that Bungle's doing it that sets them off.

If you can find it I'd be in your debt for ever.

As a sidenote I once went to a sportsman's dinner where the first Bungle was the speaker (not in the outfit).  It was one the funniest nights of my life, the guy was hilarious.

I remember an episode of Dr Zitbag's Transylvania Pet Shop when I was a kid and at one point he's sailing on a river of lava in pergutory or something with his skeleton dog Fido, and he's warned about the 'sirens' luring him off the boat to his death. He sails past an island full of women luring him and it has zero effect, the next moment he's passing an island full of gays making camp noises and doing sailors signs and Zitbag's dying to jump out of the boat and the dog has to hold him back.

Burst out laughing at this. It's "the dog has to hold him back". I bet it's way less funny in reality than it is in my brilliant mind.

I'm not sure. Blue Peter went out live, I like to think he was reading off the autocue, which someone else had seeded with innuendo. There were loads of dodgy lines, and plenty of mistakes during the Simon Groom to  Lizzie Dripping days. It was unmissable in my digs at the time.

It's made worse that Horri-fido was a skeleton-y doggy and thus has no muscles or ligaments and therefore would actually be unable to physically retain Dr Zitbag in his obviously inappropriate moment for kids homoerotic doom-laden endeavours.

Been mentioned before, but this moment happens literally 1'15" into the first episode of The Queen's Nose

Well now I'm on a register.

It reminds me of the early Johnny Bravo where, after an episode trying to infiltrate the island of beautiful women, he ends up on the island of beautiful men.

They are all burly sailor types.
He raises an eyebrow. End.

I'm not even sure what Johnny wanted to do to all the women he chased, anyway. All a bit dodgy.

Presumably the same thing Seth Macfarlane (who worked on the show) would want to do, which is sing them a big gay show tune.

I suspect Seth may have written that gag. He was only a writer on the first series. After that it was retooled and it was even more obvious Bravo was a naive virgin manchild who nevertheless chases women. There is no way it would get commissioned now. But I dare say, it was all pretty funny.

It's initially creepy, then it feels a bit Brasseye funny, but it ends up feeling creepy again.

I can't believe I forgot about this one - Pepe Le Pew.  There's not inappropriate moment, it's all inappropriate, and every episode shows our hero stalking and attempting to grope a cat who is frantically trying to escape.  If Operation Yewtree ever moves on to cartoon characters, Mr Le Pew will be the first one down the station.

I remember as a little kid hating Pepe Le Pew. Partly because he was the least funny Loony Tune character partly because I had a black cat and was convinced Pepe would try to rape her.

Pepé Le Pew is a fundamentally unlikable cunt, it must be said.
