All the stuff inside that album is even better if I remember rightly :)

Apparently the album is unlistenable shite, but I am rather taken with this:

Cancelled.

And they seemed such nice boys.

Or is that bad? I can't even tell these days.

a yawning lamprey innit? It regularly crops up in 'controversial album covers' lists along with stuff from Carcass, the HR Giger poster from The Dead Kennedys' Frankenchrist, and The Beatles 'Yesterday And today 'meat' sleeve.

I've got that. Time to Melt is great.

Neville Chamberlain

Just been having a dig through the old archives and came across this:

It's got a very haunting quality.

Fits the music, find it a bit messy/hacky but the almost-3D effect and casual lettering over a very specific design from an industrial world works for me

Wow! That's a coincidence. Just watched My Life as a Courgette and this - a song I've never heard before - was on the soundtrack. My wife liked it so much she asked me to get her a copy, so I go on Discogs and see the sleeve you just posted this morning.

Sublime. I love this album.

Yeah, great album (and The Pleasure Principle is at least every bit as good). And that cover is a very good one overall, although it's always irked me that they chose not to rig the shoot so that Gary was looking towards a real, or more convincingly mocked-up window, showing a better-realised view (although I suppose that might've weakened the 'replica' pun).  The painting behind the window frame gives off a flat-backdrop vibe that works against the stark urban-robo look that Numers is going for.  A more successfully executed cover idea is the Wyndham/Midwich-y one for the Complex single:

The typeface used is close to the one used on Replicas (Eurostile), but is more unusual and interesting.

Friedrich or something. Anyway good melodic atmos black metal.

Really like this. No idea what the music sounds like (it's Thirst by the stupidly named SebastiAn).

Not sure if it's deliberate or not (which in itself may be deliberate) but the "reflection" in the window is not a reflection, but someone looking in.

I believe that's actually Cherry Poptart, a character that appeared in a lot of bawdy (read: basically porn) independent comics starting in the seventies. Yeah. Must be, that's Larry Welz' signature.

Crabwalk

I am very taken with the artwork to Anna Meredith's new album.

Fuck knows what it means, I just find it beautifully laid out, with a gorgeous palette. After a couple of spins it sounds bloody amazing too.

Where do you want these Hipgnosis sleeves?

He's part of the Ed Banger crew (alongside Justice, Mr Oizo and Riton), so think French glitchy electro house.

Unsure if his recent stuff is any good but SebastiAn's Ross Ross Ross EP is a fuckin blinder
