I thought all the voice actors where British with maybe one yank, but yeah it's weird how small the voice cast is and how they use the same voices for all the characters. I guess it was a budget thing as there is so much incidental dialogue in the game.

New Jack

They might be British, I haven't played it in a while.... just started recognising voices, and it annoyed me (not hard)! Women working in shops in Sapienza sounding like that... plus having the same voice as that woman shouting up to the lad in the apartment whose chef uniform you can nick.

The IMDb voice credits for the game are consequentially quite funny:

QuoteDave Hill   - Saguine Stylists / Roberto Vargas / Church Staff / Shoeshop Owner / Sound Effects Crew Members / Hotel Staff / Yoga Instructor / Nails (Helicopter Pilot) / Hospital Resort Chef / Various Civilians / Terry Norfolk / Helmut Kruger / Konny Engström / Annoying Tourist / Hacker / Supporting Cast - Freedom Fighters / Agent Smith (voice)

Daniel Bonjour   -   Tren Po / Sanguine Stylists / Palace Chef / Palace Guards / Sal Falcone / Printing Crew / Exterminator / Hospital Surgeons / Hospital Patients / Kalvin Ritter / Cilas Netzke / Max Decker / Erik Olander / Fortune Teller / Amos Dexter / Salvatore Bravuomo (voice)

Noodle Lizard

Yeah, for some reason it was the British voices that really stood out to me.  That fucking woman in Sapienza.  "Rocco!  Get down here this minute!"  Sounded like something out of Eastenders.  Hilarious breaks in immersion for a game which seems to aim largely for an immersive experience.  Not to mention targets not recognizing that the priest or lawyer they've known for years has been replaced by a bald bloke who looks and sounds nothing like them, and is sometimes considerably younger.  They occasionally try to explain this away ("Wow! Father Francisco! You've had some nice cosmetic surgery and I like the new voice they gave you!") but I'm not having it.  Forgivable, I suppose.  At least they seem to have acknowledged the absurdity of this with the repeated Helmut Kruger lookalike devices.

I like how much IO have supported the original game, including updating Hitmans levels with the new gameplay elements and graphics from Hitman 2 - https://www.polygon.com/2018/8/20/17759376/hitman-2-legacy-pack-season-one-maps-free-dlc

QuoteHitman 2 will bring back the six locations from the previous game — Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Colorado and Hokkaido — as part of the Hitman Legacy Pack, a free download for owners of 2016's Hitman, IO Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today.

Those six Hitman locations will be "remastered and enhanced," IO Interactive said. That means they'll be updated to support new gameplay features coming to Hitman 2, including a new progression system, higher-fidelity crowds, picture-in-picture mode and new gameplay items (Agent 47's briefcase, dart gun, flash grenades). The Hitman Legacy Pack locations, like the new locations in Hitman 2, will receive new gameplay elements and game modes after launch, IO Interactive said.

That's great news. Finally bringing the briefcase sniper rifle to bear on the good people of Sapienza will be a real treat.

Just looked up footage of the original original Hitman game. It's always fun to go back to graphically ground breaking games and realise how shit they look. I remember breathless descriptions in PC gamer about the incredible lighting and physics. The cinematic storytelling. Now it looks like some ancient relic.

Its a reminder that everything and all of us are transient beings and that soon we will all be dead.

Playing this now, on the first Miami and just killed one of the targets whilst dressed as a flamingo mascot. Going to try killing her by staging a car crash next.

The level of detail in this level is absolutely insane.

Played through all of the main levels in this now and enjoyed it a lot. The first level at the race event in Miami is the best, up there with Paris and Sapienza as the best modern day Hitman level. Such an imaginative and brilliantly designed setting with endless scope for causing mischief, this one is just pure fun from start to finish. 5/5

The next two, Columbia and Mumbai, feel a bit like the Marrakesh level from the 2016 game, absolutely vast levels but maybe a bit too big for their own good, to the point where they becomes a bit of a chore to traverse - especially the Mumbai level where the streets are so so dense and maze like that it's virtually impossible to escape and hide if something goes wrong. The film studio stuff is great fun though which redeems it somewhat. 3/5 each for these two.

The fourth level is an odd one - it's almost a rerun of the classic A New Life level from Blood money, near identical setting but much bigger and with different aims - two targets plus you have to find clues as to the location of the next level which mixes things up a bit. It's good but it can't escape just how similar it is to A New Life. 3/5

The last main level (there is quite a long and good 'training' level at the beginning) is the most self contained of the bunch, a classic conspiracy trope remote castle, with an eyes wide shut style gathering of the world's richest people attending a secret cult event. Everything is thrown into the pot with this one - secret rooms, weird stuff going on in the basement, the wicker man, jewel thieves - it's so dense with stuff to do I think I've barely scratched the surface. It reminds me a lot of the Japan level from the 2016, it's more modest than the others in size but all the better for it, it's the one that most closely resembles a really top tier Contracts/Blood Money level. 5/5

Going to replay them all to try out some of the alternative carnage scenarios.

Two more levels are coming this year apparently, which might be the best way for them to proceed from here, rather than waiting for another 2 years to do a Hitman 3. A good new hitman level 2 or 3 times a year would be great.

I want to play this game but it takes up an INSANE amount of hard disk space.  Something like 100GB.  In the fight for disk space, porn will win every time.

I've got it on ps4 and it's only on one disc, if its the pc version it might be because of 4k textures?

Level 2 gets a bump up one point as you can feed all 3 of your targets to a hippo.

The Legacy levels take up quite a bit of disc space as well if you download them.

For once though, this is a game where you can understand why it's so huge, there's no cut and pasting going on, every room and area in every vast level is incredibly detailed and unique. They put so much effort into locations you never even see unless you play the game in one specific and very narrow way aswell. It's just a shame they never seem to sell too well as they are an absolute marvel of game design.

It's been announced that all the summer content will be coming out on June 25th (that's the 2 special assignments and the new Bank location).
