If you want creepy (or a bit of cringe comedy), you only have to look as far as that episode where Geordi creates a holodeck simulation of his "internet" crush (the nearest thing they had to internet in 80s/90s Trek) based on a vague idea of who he thinks she is, and has a little romance with said hologram.  And then by sheer coincidence the real one is flown in to help him with some project, has a completely different personality to his headcanon and for top cringe (partly because he's like "huh, your hair's different today darling", finds out that he's been shagging her holo-likeness.

I think in the books they got married. Either that or he robbed the Doctor's Holo-Emitter!

Not a fan of the 'Mirror Universe' part of Trek, but this TNG version is brilliant:

You will get laughs out of it.

Leah Brahms is a drunk ex of Geordi.

Famous Mortimer

I was bummed out they never got to base DS9 around Ro (or kept her on TNG). Hell, I even liked Pulaski. But this isn't the place for that.

There's another episode where Geordi rescues a woman in trouble and she gets freaked out because the big dork lets slip that he's watched all her private video logs. Erk.

I'm not sure if the writers intentionally made him a huge creeper, but it is funny how often it seems to be a recurring theme in his episodes.

Sebastian Cobb

which is why it's funnier that Data seemingly manages to get his robotic leg over more times than Geordi.

Yeah there's that episode where Riker comes into the Engineering Room, points at Data and says 'this guy fucks', and then Geordie is just sat there trying to catch Riker's eye so they can be pals but Riker wants none of it.

She was almost in Voyager as well.

In his defence he thought she was dead and it's common practice to read personal logs in suspicious circumstances. I wonder how many would be dirty naked ones?! He probably downloaded them onto a PADD for later. Dirty sod.

This is funny and oh so true!

I found this scene where Picard becomes increasingly creeped out by Data very funny when I caught it a couple of years ago.

Data's reluctance to stop staring is a great moment.

Love this thread. I've been dying to get on to the TNG blu rays on my full Star Trek rewatch but I've been stuck slogging through the original series for over a year. I'm on season 3 - next episode is Spock's Brain - and when that's done I'm doing the animated series and movies before TNG. Then I've got shite season 1 TNG to slog through. Should be done with it by 2040. This discussion is spurring me on.

The remasters are on Netflix and look pretty good. Full HD versions of of TOS are on there as well. DS9 and VOY are on in SD as it's too much of a ballache to redo the sfx.

Don't forget the episode where everyone on the Enterprise gets addicted to an incredibly shite VR game that gives them all little mind orgasms. The crew losing their ability to think for themselves under the influence of bleep bleep bloop graphics. Yes... I wonder what message "The Game" was trying to make there.

That Riker was a liability. He brought it onboard due to being too fond of getting his hole.

Yep. He's always turning down the offer of promotion and being captain of his own ship, out of 'loyalty' to the Enterprise. Truth is he knows he'd get himself and everyone involved killed before Picard would have a chance to say "Tea, Earl Grey, Hot"

Thanks to the AV Club yesterday I found out about this Frasier / Star Trek Voyager crossover sketch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2hs0oZ6JuQ - it's a bit rubbish in places but there's the odd funny joke and John Mahoney looks like he's having a great time at the very least.

Ah the Pokemon Go episode.

Some of us are still addicted!

The best part is the fact Marty has his chair! Fairly sure Jane Leeves auditioned for Janeway. Kelsey Grammar's Captain was mentioned here and there over the franchise but he was fleshed out during the books. He was originally in command of the Enterprise-E.

This Adam & Joe classic is long overdue in this thread.

He's dressed like an alien or sutin.

Can anything beat the space hippies from TOS?

A planet of toxic and corrosive plants did.

I reckon Riker now would be like Captain Jack off of Torchwood, sticking his bits in owt that moved. They hinted at it in that episode where he slipped a length to that gender-neutral alien too, and good on him.

There was that one episode where his wife is turned into a 12 year old, thus rendering him a space nonce through no fault of his own.

She probably did it to spite him.

Exactly, another classic Riker fuckup.

Another favourite of mine is the episode First Contact, where Riker has gone down in disguise to a planet (which is about to discover warp tech) that Starfleet plans to contact to welcome into the Federation. Riker gets knocked out and taken to hospital, where the staff immediately discover he's not of their world, and the entire first contact plan is jeapordised, and ultimately their leader is forced to reject entry into the Federation.

Picard mentions that "sociological teams" have been hanging around on the planet for *years*. For years, Starfleet have been preparing this planet for first contact, without issue. Riker goes down for 20 seconds as a formality and the entire fucking thing is destroyed.

Fucking Riker.

Zetetic

Every tug of those awful uniforms.

Which seems to tie into the broader theme of how ridiculously self-defeating Starfleet is much of the time.

Cloud

And fairly late on in shark jumping season was cake Troi (she never puts on weight despite all the desserts she goes through, so it figures she'd turn into a cake instead) and this

Haha fucking hell that's desolate (just like his marriage).  Can't stop clicking through them...

Sebastian Cobb

It seems like the whole empath thing ran out of mileage too quickly, or the writers didn't use it properly.

*Romulan threatens to destroy the Enterprise*

Troi: I'm sensing a lot of hostility from the vessel.

Picard: Yeah, CHEERS for that Troi.

The Picard manoeuvre.

TOS rather than TNG but still brilliant.
