Anyone fancy playing this year?

If enough people sign up, we can get started in about 10 days or so.

Paul Calf

I'm shit at wronging but if there aren't enough people for it to go ahead I'll take one for the team and make up the numbers.

*That's* how much I want it to go ahead.

baptist

I'll make up the canon fodder.

Dr Trouser

Ah bollocks I fucking love wimblewrong but i'm away until mid July so can't join in. tits.

Small Man Big Horse

I'm up for it, and look forward to going out in the first round yet again!

MoonDust

Yeah I'll give it a pop this year. I didn't do it last year. In fact the only one I remember taking part in was 2014.

Get me on the list please!

kittens

put me on the list. promise i won't cheat or drop out this year.

poo

I fancy it but have zero photoshopping skills. If there isn't any expectation in terms of quality, I'll have a go. Don't want to take the place of anyone who is actually good at this stuff, but here if you need the numbers.

selectivememory

The more people who take part, the better. So don't worry about keeping someone else from participating.

And don't be put off if you're concerned about your photoshop skills. Often ideas will be more important than execution.

Nice to see you all sign up again.

Anyone who's new around here and not sure about signing up to play might want to have a little look at the rules. All are welcome to join in:

Quote1. Each match will consist of two shots per player, except the final in which there are three shots per player.
2. The player with the opening shot (i.e. the server) can put what they want in their picture.  But all subsequent pictures (i.e the return) must contain, either visually or conceptually, an element of the previous picture.
3. The pictures will be 800 x 600, or 600 x 800 pixels in size.
4. Voting will take place by posting the name of your favourite in the game thread immediately after play has ended (i.e. when the 4th picture of each match has been posted).  The voting will last for 48 hours.
5. Common sense prevails in image choice.
6. Pictures can be uploaded to places like photobucket.com imgur for those who have no webspace, but the picture must be displayed in the game thread.

And a reminder of time permitted:  You have 72 hours to post an image from when the round starts or from when the last shot has been posted. Keep a look out on your game for when your opponent posts their shot, as it's from that time that the 72 hours start.

I can confirm this. I've reached R2 twice.

hummingofevil

I'll play if you short of numbers.

Paul Calf

Oh, bollocks to it. Too many reserves. I'm in.

Ian Drunken Smurf

Up for it again. Not got out of the first round yet.

zomgmouse

Oh god I'd love to but I simply don't have the time. Gutting. I'll sit and watch from the sidelines and then vote for the good ones and seethe while thinking of how my entry would be better, but maligned.

selectivememory

Still loads of time for people to sign up, but these are decent numbers so far. Would be great to get more than 20 involved, but even 16 - which I'm sure we'll get - will be adequate to be going ahead with the draw a week on Sunday.

Can we get the old wimblewrong forum back?

I'll ask Neil. Would be good for people who haven't played before to be able to see some old matches.

Thanks Neil.

Can't believe it's almost been a year since this happened.

Spoon of Ploff

Last years outing was quite upsetting to be franklin for a minute.  Somehow I made it to the final despite being the loser in two previous rounds. In fact, to be franklin again for another minute the only round I won was the round I should have lost to Cerys. People seemed to think it was hilarious to keep dragging me back into this mire just to see when I'd crack. Looking back over the Wimblewrong threads it's obvious just how bafflingly ill informed, idiotic and just plain wrong most of the voting was. Someone even had the gall to call one of my shots lazy, ceeky ***k, I practically sweat blood to get these works of art prepared and presented to you philistines. A-and don't get me started on the attempted match fixing that went on. Oh, and one more thing... to my arch nemesis who got the better of me twice (yeah, ha bloody ha) and everyone who chose him over me in the final - have you even looked at the Bayeux tapestry? Pretty much all of those badly stitched toewrags look like Bruce f***in* Forsyth! For ****s s*** come on!!  The Ken Dod one was top drawer though, I'll give you that.

So anyway. Having burnt all the bridges it's possible to burn, sign me up... it'll be great.

spamwangler

Would love to get involved but I don't think I could really spend the run up to my wedding photoshopping prolapse porn onto Jacob Rees mob AND the run up to Xmas writing infant mortality flash fiction, so I'm choosing life, choosing desolation quest

hedgehog90

Just realised I not only predicted Bruce's death (within weeks), I got Dodd too.
So yeah don't fuck with this lol.
