Small Man Big Horse

The 2017 Palme d'Or winner, this is a comedy set in the art world where the chief curator of a museum is mugged one day, and his attempts to get his belongings back lead to his life taking an unexpected direction. It's a gentle and oddly relaxing film to watch for the first seventy minutes, and very funny in places, but the second half becomes more tense, and unfortunately I found the ending to be very unsatisfying. Which is a deliberate choice, but one I found quite frustrating, and which loses the film a point. 7.4/10

Mister Six

From the poster I thought it was some mental thing about a Tony Jaa fella doing a fight club for black-tie spectators. So disappointed to find out what it's actually about, I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it.

Neville Chamberlain

I've only seen the "awkward dinner party scene", which was very tense.

Really enjoyed this - from the writer/director of the excellent Force Majeure.

Would agree about the tonal shifts and intentional in-built disappointments, but I was really glad to have seen it and thought it occasionally very funny. Comments very effectively on the art world. There are definitely some uncomfortable/tense moments in there and I feel like it's something that would benefit from a rewatch at some point, perhaps lessening the G-force of some of the tonal shifts?

7.5-8 / 10 feels fair. Will be really interested to see what Östlund does next, and hope he can keep his work rate up. Sounds like his next project, Triangle of Sadness, is about fashion models which could be very funny and traumatic.
