There are now a mere NINETEEN (19) days until the start of the Premier League and other assorted club association football competitions.

Seeing as the previous WC thread sadly failed to deliver on its "coming home" promise and Are Gareth and Pals have returned from their adventure in Russia, let's get on with it and start a new thread. Unless there already is one that I haven't seen, in which case, new thread, ignore.

Who's going to win the 3rd biggest one, the EPL? For me, Clive, it's hard to look past Manchester City FC, although Liverpool and Spurs have got to be in the reckoning. No one wants Utd to win, presumably, not even a single game, but I suppose they've got some good players as well.

bgmnts

Not really following the football anymore but Man Utd can't not win it again.

It's "Ball, ball, ball. Footy, footy, footy".

Gah!

christ it just never ends, does it? The Football. It never stops, it never stops, an endless merry go round, spinning...spinning...spinning....I WANNA GET OFF, JUST FOR A LIL WHILE.

EOLAN

Chelsea to win the League this season and avoid relegation on the last day in 2019/20.

Anyway, will there be a big live CAB thread for the Carabao Cup draws at round 4 am in the morning this season.

smudge1971

Premier League is all played out now. It's all about the Championship. Especially since my lot are in there.

It gets old when you've been there (and briefly lower) for 20 odd years...

Tranmere vs Man City Juniors in the checkatrade Cup is the big one for me Andy

Jesus Christ it's too early. Does anyone seriously want the fucking Premier League back in like two weeks time.

No. No-one does.

Liverpool dropping huge amounts all over the shop suggest that this season is going to be their big push for the title. I know this can be said of all the teams every season, but my eyes are watering looking at these prices, Clive. Still think Manchester City will win it again at a canter again, though.

Manchester United to be a joyless void somewhere in the top four. Playing relegation football but somehow maintaining a steady league position all the way. Mourinho's tenure to out-last Alex Ferguson's.

Spurs seem overdue a bad season. It feels unnatural, finishing high every year. It cannot last. But however poor it is, it won't be as bad as Arsenal or Chelsea's. I reckon they're going to be shocking.

As with almost everyone, I am utterly useless at predicting football.

Ah come on now. For a start, we have nothing else in our lives. Second, it's better than having to read BBC News articles about Everton beating Austrian pub teams 22:0 in friendlies.

And it won't be a proper World Cup as it will be in November.

Gah!

Yeah, this is going to annoy me for a whole year.

Predictions:

Exactly the same top 4 as last year, Arsenal and Chelsea swapping positions. Hope I'm wrong and Man U fall down again.

Liverpool make it 7 times Ronaldo's Juventus to beat Buffon's PSG in the Champions League final.

It been almost a decade for us (Blackburn) but it is preferable to BFS keeping us in the Prem with hoofball win-scrapes and conceding every game against the Big 6. Hope things go well for you, whoever your team is.

Now we're cooking. Villa to do absolutely nothing (except possibly go into administration). Ferris to cry by end of season.

Is John Terry still at Villa? I mean, I could Google it but I don't want his name in my Google search history.

I was looking up 'Child pornography laws in the United Kingdom' earlier but there's got to be limits.

No, he's fucked off into the sunset. New owners are selling everything that isn't nailed down. Desolation. I feel nothing.

East Fife 4 Forfar 5 has become a reality (sort of). Momentous day for the game in Scotland, Clive. Harry Kane's brother sent off in the match, too. Amazing scenes.

My favourite footy scoreline is East Fife 4 Brechin 2 (Electric Boogaloo)

Is there a CAB Fantasy Premier League set up? I've seen threads about other years but haven't seen one about this season.

Ooh, I'd be up for this actually. I have a godlike ability to navigate any group of players to the bottom of any division. Like a millstone, I am.

Watch: Benteke will be massive for Palace this season. Marvel as he now goes on to do nothing.

I don't think there is one yet, so I just made one (classic scoring system).

Er, not sure there is a link to the league itself. Try going here and entering the code above: https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/leagues/join/private

You will probably need to sign up first if you haven't already.
