Better just to be dead than indulge that sort of thing though.

A separate pad is not conducive to nimble touch typing, nor does it let you swipe enter with the right hand little finger.

Do people really just use the top numbers like neanderthals, for the sake of a small amount of keyboard real estate?
What are you talking about? You can do all of those things with a separate pad, with the added bonus of being able to positioning it exactly where you want.

Come now, are you telling us you're not the type of person who uses the <alt>+0135 double-dagger ‡ on an hourly basis? You've not lived!

Everybody who was into IDM in the early 00s knows what <alt>-0181 is all about.

Is that APL?

Remember when the Master System's pause button wasn't even on the controller.

Twed

Remember when the Amiga thought one fire button was enough? Yeah great, let's enjoy Mortal Kombat and platform games where you have to press up to jump.

My friend had one of these bad boys, a quickshot flightgrip.

I never got a chance to use it as we were in a hurry to play football but I did hold it and it felt amazing, you held it like handlebars and it had 2 buttons! One on the top for your thumb and the other for your trigger finger on the front.

Yeah but you could just nick someone's megadrive controller.

Twed

If the game supported more than one button.
