Seen his tweets about Richard Blumenthal?

I've said it before and I'll say it again...Fucking Ada.

Donald "5 deferments and dubious diagnosis of bone-spurs to avoid active service in Vietnam" trump having a pop at someone else for serving as a state trooper during Vietnam is beyond parody.

...but I wasn't going to post it here because I've just had enough of the cunt for one day. He has a way of invading your consciousness doesn't he. Odious sack of shit.

The only good thing about Trump is that he routinely humiliates ogres such as Tillerson, Cruz, McCan, Jeb!, etc

Tillerson and Haley already gone, Haley's role at the UN being filled by an anchor from Fox News of all places.

Mnuchin, Sanders and Mattis also on the chopping block apparently. Tillerson must wonder why he bothered leaving Exxon just to be called a moron by the president. That said, they're all such disgusting power-hungry moral failures that it is hard to feel bad for them when they are inevitably publicly binned (with reputations in tatters). See also: Spicer, the Mooch, Preibus, Flynn etc etc.

I've said it before but I will never understand why people are loyal to Trump in any way when he's shown time and again he will throw everyone under the bus when it's convenient. As you say, I don't feel bad for the fuckwits that tether their boat to him only to watch it sink but you'd think power-hungry fuckwits would learn by now that he'll always fuck you over.

The tweetstorms and totes alpha-male crying are going to reach epic proportions over the next few weeks. Still hanging out for the civil war when he's impeached and his supporters start bombing shit and shooting people. 2019 gonna be a riot!

Urinal Cake

I suspect for all of them is that they can outsmart Trump. Which they do for a while but somebody leaks how somebody called Trump stupid and the  Trump throws a tantrum.

You need to be like Miller- obsequious and friendless.

Hillary's a bit 2016, sorry. (Unless - god forbid - she's 2020). But banging on about Hillary right now makes me think of Ben Garrisson/Alex Jones types gratuitously bringing her up cos she's the favourite MAGA whipping girl. Her many historic faults are often re gurgitated as a distraction when things aren't so rosy in Trumpland which is of late every waking moment.

Loads of mad stuff going on just now on the Mueller/Trump front. And many failures on the Trump only front. I know Biggy considers the whole Mueller thing a big deep state lie etc and all the madness blends into one and as Twed would say the real issues are elsewhere but Trump is sweating and squirming like a brown underweared man at a no shiting party and it causes entertainment and schaudenfraude and there should be more about it on this thread.

BlodwynPig

I would argue that the Mueller stuff lacks any gravitas and is symptomatic of an institutional infantilisation on all sides, akin to kindergarden hissy fitting. Populist entertainment for dumbed down minds. A real embarrassment.

Well, precisely. The Trump administration gets the investigation it deserves then. Saying Mueller's investigation 'lacks gravitas' is like saying a documentary about the making of Russ Abbott's Madhouse 'lacks gravitas'. It wouldn't be fit for purpose if it had any.

Alberon

I think that describes Trump's response but the Mueller investigation so far seems quite methodical and professional and has rolled over quite a few of Trump's former underlings. It's not Mueller's fault that what he is uncovering is Stupid Watergate.

Meanwhile, it looks like Trump is having problems finding a successor for John Kelly. Pence's chief of staff, Nick Ayers, was approached but turned down the job and will shortly be leaving his current job.

Gotta be Hannity. That'd be hilarious.

A US judge has ordered porn actress Stormy Daniels to reimburse President Donald Trump's legal fees after her defamation case was thrown out.

Alberon

Which is totally fair.

Meanwhile Michael Cohen has got three years and forced to pay $2m.

QuoteHe told the court his "weakness was a blind loyalty to Donald Trump" and that he "felt it was my duty to cover up his dirty deeds".

Ferris

Difficult to claim these payments weren't campaign contributions when AMI has admitted to prosecutors that they were campaign contributions.

Gotta be Hannity. That'd be hilarious.

In fact, Trump today said this, seemingly trying to drop his biggest booster into the shit:

QuoteLook, he did some bad things, unrelated to me, maybe related to his other clients. I wasn't his only client; he had other clients. He did some bad things and -- income tax evasion. I heard about taxi cab -- I heard about a lot of things. Now, I'm not reading about any of that stuff, because what he did is he made a deal to embarrass me. In order to embarrass me, they cut his term down. Pretty terrible stuff.

hilarious. honour among thieves.

In other news: Jared Kushner being considered for chief of staff.

David Pecker is corroborating Cohen's account of being in the room when DJT authorised payments to silence Daniels and McDougal.

7y/o migrant girl dies in confinement from shock and dehydration. Every single fucking member of ICE and the Trump administration should be in the Hague, then put up against a fucking wall. Every single one of the cunts.

Didn't Cohen already release a tape of Trump ordering the (now criminal) payments several months ago? Nobody can even keep track of all the scandals anymore.

Urinal Cake

It's a bit weird. Yeah Trump is probably guilty of a crime but due to custom we Prosecutors won't charge  the current President. We'll wait till he vacates the Office and then charge him. But then he'll probably get a pardon anyway.

Where's the deterrence in that?

QuoteUS President Donald Trump has named Mick Mulvaney, the director of the office of management and budget, as acting White House chief of staff.

Fuck I was wondering where I'd heard the name Mulvaney before. Tears.

Mr Banlon

He really is scraping the bottom of the barrel if he had to choose Mulvaney.

Zinke gone now, in big trouble over shady land deals. Jesus fuck. The level of incompetence and corruption is mindboggling.

Trump supporters genuinely love that stuff though, there's a reason it had no outcome on the election.

"The Special Counsel Is Fighting a Witness in Court. Who Is It?"

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/15/us/politics/special-counsel-subpoena.html

Allegedly trying to compel a witness to testify before a grand jury, but that person is fighting the subpoena. Wonder who it could be? My money is on Don Jr who is arguing that executive privilege extends to him. No idea who it is at the moment, obviously. Could be interesting if it leaks.

The Washington Post article on the now dissolved Trump Foundation is a doozie

Quote"The Foundation was little more than a checkbook for payments to not-for-profits from Mr. Trump or the Trump Organization," Underwood wrote in the initial suit.

The Post's reporting showed that, for years, Trump appeared to use the foundation — which was, by law, an independent entity — to make payments that bolstered his interests.

The largest donation in the charity's history — a $264,231 gift to the Central Park Conservancy in 1989 — appeared to benefit Trump's business: It paid to restore a fountain outside Trump's Plaza Hotel. The smallest, a $7 foundation gift to the Boy Scouts that same year, appeared to benefit Trump's family. It matched the amount required to enroll a boy in the Scouts the year that his son Donald Trump Jr. was 11.

Couldn't even fucking pay for his son's Scouts subs from his own pocket.

Ferris

^that's impressively awful. Not least because the cost of issuing an invoice through a 501(c)3 entity is considerably more than $7 in terms of man hours (but it would cost the charity, not the person directing the payment).

Zetetic

US-coalition has now accepted responsibility for over 1,100 'unintentional civilian deaths' in Syria and Iraq as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, although Airwars puts their high confidence estimate at up ten times that.

Most of these occurred in 2017, although it looks as though there was another spike late this year (possibly coinciding with bits of Operation Roundup) with (Airwars-rated Fair) reports of hundreds of relevant deaths in November.

I suppose it's interesting argument whether Trump really has brought the worst excesses of the US government into the light - or whether enacting various pointlessly horrible bits of policy at home serves to distract from ongoing foreign policy awfulness.
