My favourite bit about that Bernie thread is that she shares a clip where Bernie says he likes the female Democrat, that he's worked with her for years and that she's an honest and intelligent person - and then she goes on to tweet that this clips shows the arrogance and nastiness towards women that Bernie would later use against our good good Hillary.

Bernie Sanders, presidential candidate, saying that he had "learned" black people are smell and stupid. You don't even need to see the video to figure out the context of that one.

I hope she's being paid to do this. I hope somebody has spent money to fail this hard.

She shares a clip of Bernie Sanders candidly discussing racism and the danger of such destructive, dehumanising ideas, and therefore she dispels the notion that he is some kind of "class reductionist/fundamentalist" who doesn't care about racial equality and justice.

She really is doing a lot of Bernie's supporters' work for them and she doesn't even realise it.

I guess a simple (probably incorrect) answer is that they've so bought into the concept of "The American Dream", that if you work hard enough you can be anything, that anything vaguely "leftie" is akin to cheating the system.

The other day a US libertarian friend-of-a-friend on Facebook told me that my praise for Australia's socialised healthcare (having had several sight-saving operations to remedy diabetic complications) proved an inability to take responsibility for my own actions (diabetic complications being, he believes, my own fault).  When you've got suckers like that roaming the wilderness...
