BBC ruined the punchline for this enjoyably vicious attack ad aimed at republican candidate Paul Gosar. So watch it blind here.

That's pretty much what the phrase "cold shit action" was invented for.

Nah should be on that part of the rolled back foreskin that stings. That would fucking hurt.

He's super into MMA these days, even got a former pro to coach him. Reckon I could still kick his head in though.

Look at that fucking appalling technique.

I love listening to Bortz on the radio. Great unique voice, I will be in total agreement for up to 4 minutes and then BAM, crazytown.

Trump Supreme Court pick was miraculously on the path to derailment, and now this media turd Avenetti comes along and is going to discredit the entire thing

Spoiler: The six talking heads in the advert belittling Gosar are his own brothers and sisters. Its Brill's shit eating grin at the end that makes it though

As we're talking about voting motivation, I read this today:

https://theintercept.com/2018/09/18/2016-election-race-class-trump/

So... what about the election of that Barack Obama?

This article is a crock of shit as it completely fails to take into account cause and effect. Yes, people's frustrations manifest themselves in resentment and bigotry, often through identity politics. But those frustrations have almost always arisen through the environment created through being deprived or perceiving perverse injustice and unfairness about their economic situation and the need to direct anger about that. This is why it's so easy to be socially liberal when you're wealthy, and why I understand why a politician like Trudeau could come across as a cloying nauseating elite hypocrite to a working class guy.

It's entirely reasonable that a root-cause politician like Sanders could have convinced rust belt states to vote for him over Trump.

Not to mention the fact Clinton was poison. It really helps to vote for someone like Trump when you have a media telling you you're stupid and an alternative candidate that pretty much embodies elite corruption and the lack of care the supposed left party in America have in your prosperity.

Another day, another spectacle of the Orange Clown humiliating himself:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2018/sep/25/trump-united-nations-latest-live-news-updates-un-general-assembly-north-korea-iran-

QuoteDonald Trump has been busy at the UN general assembly ahead of his remarks today.

Yesterday, the US president announced he would hold a second summit with the "very open and terrific" North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un.

Those compliments are a remarkable turnaround from Trump's first appearance at the UN general assembly last year, when he hurled insults at Kim and threatened to "totally destroy" North Korea.

Here's a look at what led to the change of course and the reaction to the planned second summit:

Just watched that.

Unfortunately this man is incapable of shame, but hopefully some of his American citizens are feeling it and come November will reward Trump for his excellent start as President in the mid-term elections.

I know we wish for it, but if we're being realistic, it's not going to happen, is it? Trump will probably paint today as the world mocking America, for which he will take revenge.

That said, you could tell he was a bit rattled by not playing to a home crowd for once.

The GOP are going to get royally reamed in Congress, that is absolutely realistic and practically nailed on. There is a less realistic chance of them gaining the Senate to but never say never, that orange pile of cunt managed to win against the odds didn't he?

Maybe. Let's just say recent experience has trained me to expect the worst. Though, in mitigation, I often get confused between the whole Congress/Senate thing.

I think it will be even worse than what the polls predict, people are fucking angry and energised and the way they've dealt with these sexual assault allegations concerning Brett Kavanaugh will have angered even more white middle class women than before. Once they control Congress a whole world of shit will be unleashed upon all the corruption and rule breaking that has been allowed to pass so far. There will more investigations than we can keep up with. If they take the Senate too then the packing of the courts with far right Judges will be over.

I work a couple of blocks away from the UN and it is absolutely mental around here this week. At lunch today I got caught up in a huge group of people from Iraq who were trying to give me all kinds of Iraq paraphernalia, like scarves, umbrellas, etc. No idea why.

Question: What is point of secret service agents walking around in tops that say SECRET SERVICE in large lettering on them? Doesn't that rather negate the 'secret' part of the whole deal?

They were still laughing at Obama

I saw Trump, albeit briefly, in the flesh today. On my way home, all of a sudden the streets are closed off, everyone is left waiting for a crazy long time, huge police escort comes through, and boom there's the Donald, waiving out of his car window. No protests or anything, I don't think anyone knew he was coming through. Not much of an anecdote, I know. Might be enough to give biggy a semi.

steve98

It's an ok annecdote, don't be so hard on yourself sucker. Yeah it could have been better, a lot better, but so what? Forget about it.

Squink

Saw the twat again today. It's like he's stalking me. Same place as yesterday, streets all closed off, no way anyone could move anywhere. The motorcade came through and there's his unmistakable frame/hair stuffed into the back of a car (not waiving this time).

Hopefully this concludes the tale of me and Donald Trump.

Tomorrow, take your sniper rifle. Third time's the charm.

A lot of people are talking up the Kavanaugh affair as the last straw for female voters. Frankly, I don't think it'll make a blind bit of difference. All the similar(-ly awful) allegations against Trump himself didn't deter them, after all. Americans, you know, often lovely people, but Christ can they find the thinnest of pretexts to look down on other people that puts the British's own snobbery and inverse snobbery in the shade. For every brave woman who's deployed the MeToo hashtag in anger, there are a dozen who just sniffed and declared that THEY never found themselves being drugged and gangraped, so it must be a failing on the part of Ford, Ramirez, Swetnick and their ilk.

So basically Swetnick when in college went to high school parties where she saw drinks getting spiked and guys lining up to rape girls.

Not only did she not report  it for 35 years she went back numerous times? And the man who broke the story is an ambulance chaser.

Seems legit.

monolith

He'll be fine at the mid terms. Far longer odds on him winning the presidency but he somehow managed that.

I'm just accepting the fact that he will probably be around for another six years, every week people will say "ahhh but this time is different" and every time the cunt will win. Such is life.

Benevolent Despot

I'm waiting until he does something incredibly stupid, like be politically correct or apologise for something, before I place my bets on him for the next election. That's the only way he'll get longer odds.

Do you think there is anything in the supposed racist tapes? If so that's probably game over.

They could all be scumbags. That's my hot take, anyway.

Still probably enough to worry politically vulnerable senators if any of these claims are corroborated so it might not happen for Bart O'Kavaunagh :(

That's what the establishment Republicans thought following the Access Hollywood tape. Even sycophants like Mike Pence and dishonest political hacks like Kellyanne Conway refused to immediately continue to show support. They changed their tune once the numbers didn't show the expected negative impact.

It was only the contrary and compromised Rudy Guiliani who was prepared to attempt any immediate defense in public, which he managed with the same probity, coherence and effectiveness he has shown following his replacement of John Dowd as Trump's outside personal counsel - though even Trump and Bannon were not particularly pleased with Guiliani's performance at the time.

Paul Ryan had a well prepared speech to give on election night, anticipating a heavy loss and seeking to re-establish his personal Bush 43 brand of relatively progressive, inclusive and fiscally responsible conservatism - condemning the most appalling aspects of Trumpian Republicanism, positioning himself as the leader to reunite the Freedom Caucus and McCain/Rubio/Kasich extremes into a reinvented electable party.

Fortunately for Trump he ignored all the advice, with the exception of Steve Bannon's outlier suggestion he double down and plough through the huge controversy - as the only potential path left to victory.

Bannon's instincts were correct in that instance (Bob Woodward's book provides an excellent insight into this key period in the campaign) and I suspect any "N" word tapes will provoke similar advice, based on the "pussy" grabbing experience.

If any "N" word tapes become the catalyst to a "game over" situation, it will be on the heels of an already massively disillusioned electorate - the extent of which we will get a better idea of in November.

Trump has managed to hold on to his base in spite of everything so far, demonstrating a remarkably solid amount of unquestioning support from a 30+% baseline. His low approvals are not unprecedented. Previous incumbents have been re-elected with similar midterm numbers.

I think the enthusiasm of Trump's base puts him in a very strong position even now. In addition there will always be an evangelical vote prepared to ignore his disdainful conduct, as long as he remains the only viable path to continue reshaping the Federal judiciary's lifetime appointments in the strict Federalist Society mould.

It's a sad prospect, but I honestly don't think any "N" word tape controversy alone will have a substantial impact amongst hardcore Trump voters. As long as they remain with Trump in place, he can still pick up enough support from conventional right-wingers to stay in contention.
