There's no conspiracy with Rahul not leaving, you can't just bake what you want and not follow the challenge as Manon did. Rahul is very lucky that Manon decided to just do what she wanted but if everyone was allowed to do that then you may as well just make a fucking amazing cake or biscuits every time even if it's bread week.

Kim Joy is the most loathsome contestant in the history of this show. What is wrong with you all.

Did they give Rahul the benefit of the doubt? Maybe, but it's not as if Manon wasn't terrible last week as well. Her final pastry looked grim.

Emma Raducanu

Standard is woeful. I'd walk into the final.

Bhazor

I'd give Ruby a thorough glazing alright.

AsparagusTrevor

Rahul done shit again, he was only safe because Brionny did shitter. He actually mentioned looking round Sheffield for inspiration for his patisserie stuff - we're lucky he didn't make Yum Yums or a 12 pack of jam donuts.

monolith

I reckon he does well next week though, he only ever gets emotional and cries when he has smashed it, he always just looks apathetic when he's fucked up.

Cuellar

Kim Joy is wonderful and I will not have a word said against her

That being said, put some fucking flavour in next time Kimj

Blue Jam

Manon would have wiped the floor with everyone this week. Poor Manon...

Rahul has been very lucky these last two weeks. "Why does everyone keep laughing at the hump?" Oh Rahul, you are clearly too pure for the innuendo minefield that is Bake-Off.

The standard is a bit woeful this year (for a start all of those delicate French pastry showstoppers were fucking massive) but the remaining bakers seem like a great bunch of lads and this will be the first final since 2012 (John of the Fringe, Brendan with his Gloria Gaynor disco dips, Dr James with the cuddly pullovers) where I'll be happy whoever wins.

monolith

Winner on the day and probably the best baker over the course of the series (most hand shakes, equal top star baker wins). Delightful little man.

Cuellar

It should have been Kimj

I'm inconsolable

Blue Jam

Kim-Koy's lost city of Atlantis was so pretty.

Ruby done good too.

Rahul's baking was "rough and ready" but he still won? After three duff weeks on the trot? Nrrrrrghhhhh.

AsparagusTrevor

I think based on the final the right person won, but he should've gone a couple of weeks ago.

The pita technical was fucking stupid.

That's my review.

Piss poor for a final, really. Those showstoppers all looked awful, none of the bakers were dynamic enough to be able to cope with the technical.

Paul should have just told them they were all shit and smashed the cake stand in front of them and their loved ones.

Clownbaby

I liked Ruby and everything but I'm surprised she got so far to be honest. She had the same "this'll do/I'll just snip that bit off can't be arsed now"/grumpy approach that I generally do when making things but then again there was always someone who did worse, so it was kind of reassuring to me in a way that she got to the final. You can be all over the place in your output and still get somewhere, you can

Cuellar

Yeah, they ALL seemed a bit rough and ready compared to some of the ones in the past, but maybe that's just nostalgia.

All Rahul's stuff this time was a bit crap, most of Kim Joy's stuff was alright, and Ruby had been winging it for weeks.

We'll soon have to be called up to participate, like jury duty.

Emma Raducanu

The standard was awful this year. All the finalists were lovely as fuck. Rahul because he's like a teddy bear. Wouldn't the world be a better place if the entire human race were just like Kim joy and ruby was nice to look at.

My girlfriend who hasn't watched a single episode and has no interest in baking said, when referring to the choux on ruby's show stopper, "why has she made a tower made out of shit?". Says it all really.

Looking forward to next year.

monolith

Rahul shouldn't have gone a couple of weeks ago, he was shit on that week but he at least made what was asked of him.

This is the first time I've ever watched it so can't compare to other years but Rahul is wonderful so I am happy.

amputeeporn

A very likeable year but not the best season tbh. Usually there's a smug hate figure (comparatively) who I can moan about - and maybe two or three white-hot brilliant bakers who genuinely shock you. That said, I'd have been happy for any of the final three to win.

DO think Manon should have been in the final, though...

Dex Sawash

Ruby has best looking family of all series of bake off, seems fishy.

What an idiotic technical for the final of a baking competition.

At least Kim Joy didn't win, thank god.

Next out was the lovely Cathryn - I always end up rooting for one, so I was sad to see my series 3 fondant fancy fall so close to the end.
