Turns out Louis wanked in front of Sarah Silverman too, the difference this time around being that she gave him consent to do so - http://www.tmz.com/2018/10/22/sarah-silverman-louis-ck-masturbate-consent/?fbclid=IwAR0EaVk9vw4l-Umy0w78MIjxLrZsZ8eGVP1-jnUhRJPcXYViUhC--xF9Fug

He also masturbated in front of her sister several times. Will the Silverman matriarch come forward soon?

Quote from: TMZShe made a very important distinction, though, between herself and the women who accused him of sexual misconduct. Sarah says she and Louis were peers, on the same level as they were getting their starts -- unlike his accusers, over whom he had power in the biz.

A pretty weird distinction in reality.

BeardFaceMan

Not terribly suprising, she's told stories of stripping off with him before. Makes more sense why she was more forgiving of him too.

Seems to be dating French actress Blanche Gardin now https://people.com/tv/louis-ck-holds-hands-french-actress-blanche-gardin/

This week's news has turned him from wankbeast to wankLEDGE!!!

Apparently Louis did another surprise set this week, but some audience members weren't happy to see him. He did have support in the crowd from Chris Rock though https://pagesix.com/2018/10/25/louis-c-k-gets-support-from-chris-rock-at-latest-stand-up-gig/

QuoteThe club now prints "Swim at your own risk" on tickets and has a disclaimer: "If an unannounced appearance is not your cup of tea, you are free to leave (unobtrusively please), no questions asked, your check on the house."

Fucking yes. Go in, drink yourself stupid, then walk out claiming you don't like something.

I don't know if other people feel this way, but for me with virtually all American comics that I have seen they're so insular that their material just has no relevance to me whatsoever. I feel that they could only be talking about urban United States, and not only that but also that their actual knowledge and appreciation of anywhere else is so minimal as to be basically non-existent.

They all seem to be derived from so-called 'bro culture', and they all seem to think sex is funny. Sex isn't funny. It's many things, but funny is not one of them.

Even Doug Stanhope, who I quite like and who definitely has some occasionally insightful things to say...I can't imagine him outside of an American context, or understanding anything outside of his narrow sphere of influences. He still seems to be cut from the same cloth as the rest of them. He even pretty much admitted this himself:

I realise that he's being facetious, but there is obviously some truth in what he's saying as well. Okay, so sell America to me. You can get really big alcoholic drinks and they're really cheap, partly thanks to the exploitation of migrant labour. Is that it?

The only popular American comedian I've seen who stands outside of this is Larry David, who has been an obvious outsider in life. Louis Székely, sorry Louis 'CK', has just proved that he's just another 'partying', sex-obsessed, boorish, tedious moron. Not that surprising because they all seem that way to me, to be perfectly honest.

The comedic arrogance of the British is probably more suited to YouTube comments than here.

I would instead see as arrogant the assumption that everyone is a youngish, usually white (although Chris Rock's schtick is almost indistinguishable from the bro comics, except he points out that America is massively racist, which is obvious anyway) urban-based male, fixated with drinking, taking drugs, banging chicks, and complaining about women after you've had sex with them, and that everyone is massively fascinated with this perspective.

My wife and I went to the Cellar once and sat up front, fully aware that the comedians would single us out (and they did) and a bunch of them tried to get us to reveal our porn habits, and the reality is we're a couple of art nerds who think porn is boring, so we were like an enigma to them. It was a great night. Keith Robinson's one of the funniest comedians I've seen.

You say this like it isn't a British thing as well.

QuoteC.K. has mostly steered clear of addressing the allegations against him in his comedy, though he apparently made a vague reference to them during his two sets on Monday night, telling a joke about how you "find out who your real friends are" when you "get in trouble."

Lots of comics still seem to support him as a friend, but I wonder who dropped him. Zach Galifianakis' response to the allegations seemed to suggest he didn't want anything to do with Louis now.

Louis did a 70 minute announced (or consensual) set in Paris on Tuesday https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/louis-ck-performs-70-minute-stand-up-show-paris-1158919

Quote"Why do black guys have such big dicks?" is how he started one part of the show. "It's a philosophical question," he quipped.

Other topics included: "Do you ever wonder how many people fucked your mom?" and "Do you think there are some people who miss when it was wrong to be gay?" There was also a bit where C.K. pondered how he would behave in a world where having sex with children was considered legal.

He's certainly not tiptoeing back into it, I'll give him that.

Utter Shit

Wrong Louis, that looks like Barfe. Who if anything is an even bigger arsehole than CK.

Interesting read here. An article about Louis' girlfriend, outspoken French comedian Blanche Gardin, titled "The Woman Who Still Finds Louis C.K. Lovable":

QuoteShe's what the French admiringly call a femme libre — a free woman.

fuck off, she's just an awful comic with distasteful opinions (to be fair in a country where almost all comics are shit), there's nothing liberating about that.

QuoteBut there's also a belief in France that everyone, even sinners, is entitled to love

the new york times, eh? I guess no one's immune to clichés or generalizations.

Bennett Brauer

I suppose she's right with her point about comparative nuance (eg Spacey probably isn't on a par with Weinstein, and closer to home lumping DLT in with Savile and Hall as part of Yewtree is stupid), but that's nothing earth-shaking. CK is not "a monster of sincerity" so much as a monster of disingenuousness.

BritishHobo

That article proper tries to sell her as a breath of fresh air, breaking away from received opinion. But this could have been plucked straight out of a tired internet debate:

Quote"You can pass a law against street harassment, but when a woman decorates herself like a Christmas tree, "you have to risk that someone says you're well-decorated," she says. "That's the game."

Also along the lines of Bennett's post, saying CK isn't Weinstein level only shows that he's not Weinstein level. It doesn't work in any way as a defence of what he actually did, or a good reason for championing him. It's shit.
