Katie Hopkins files for bankruptcy [split topic]

Not starting a new thread for it, but just saw on the Guardian that Hopkins has had to file for an Individual Voluntary Arrangement to avoid bankruptcy over legal costs from losing the Jack Monroe libel case.

"It's really quite sad – two tweets cost her her house, job, and now her credit rating," said Monroe, reflecting on the case, which has taken more than three years in total.

"I'm supposed to be jubilant and celebratory but I feel quite mixed up. Having been close to the edge of bankruptcy myself, it's a hideous situation to be in, but it was completely avoidable. Things are in place in that agreement to make sure her children are looked after. I'm a mother myself and I read it line by line to make sure that her children didn't suffer as a result of what she's done."

Hopkins is apparently in Poland at the moment and not making any comment, but here's an old tweet of hers.

Edit: I've just read her twitter feed - it is just pointless, petty nastiness (and increasingly far-right: not pearl-clutching accusation in the Guardian 'far-right', but going to Poland to encourage people to defend their "Christian culture" far-right). This person made a living out of making the world worse and appealing to the basest instincts of scared people. Remaining shred of sympathy; gone.
