Mr Farenheit

Just saw this... the first half doesn't give you time to breathe sometimes with the amount of brilliant one liners, especially the bit in hairs house.

"I have a rule in my house. If you break it you fix it. But  you can break anything you want."

I now know what I'd do if I was rich. I'd go and visit Hair Bros ' house and smash everything to pieces.

On a similar theme, Drum & Bass duo Source Direct talking some right old shit back in '96, bless 'em.

I'll cut straight to the comedy gold.

As any sensible 20 year old should do given the opportunity, they've clearly spent their advance money on matching BMWs and lots of high grade weed.

This popped up in my feed a few days ago too, must be trending slightly, they were good producers back in '96.

The classic D&B documentary is the BBC one on Good Looking Records, there's some Spinal Tap moments in there (mainly around Tony Fordham the manager)

The ironing in Japan clip at 18mins is amazing

Cheers for the link, great stuff.

Ballad of Ballard Berkley

Just read this thread again, and it's interesting to note that so many of us agreed that, while the Bros documentary is fucking hilarious at times, it's ultimately a rather sad portrait of two estranged siblings who just don't know how to communicate with each other.

As far as I can tell, Bald and Hair are a pair of nice enough blokes afflicted with a chronic lack of self-awareness and emotional maturity. They're talentless dimwits, that's the worst thing you can say about them.

There are some amazing 'production tips' videos from the drum and bass scene.

El-b's 'production masterclass' is brilliant.

I dunno, smoke more weed and 'butter it up'.

This video from clipz/redlight is brilliant.

UK dance production was full of geezers & eccentrics in the 90's/00s

From the same series as the Source Direct above here's Photek pulling up to his mid terrace house in '96 in a Ferrari
https://youtu.be/TyKuzY52hWU, worked out nice for him though he lives in LA and has had three Grammy nominations.

I really like this series https://youtu.be/dAJZB1C-RzI of Alex from Hyper On Experience/EZ Rollers talking to the camera for an hour about their early days with Moving Shadow.

loving how simple El-b's keeping things, - one work station sampler, cubase and a load of delays.

made me want to get a workstation, stop using any plugins
