The most destructive wildfire in California history struck this weekend in the Malibu area. Looks like the apocalypse. 11 confirmed dead in that report, but it's most likely rising. Homes of the rich and famous have been destroyed, as well as movie sets, and lots and lots of trees. Paramount Ranch, where the likes of Westworld and M*A*S*H were filmed, has also burned down.

I guess that's the catch of living in California. It looks pretty, but it could spontaneously combust at any moment.

QuoteThis is the second time the rock star has lost his home to a wildfire, according to Vulture. The 1978 Malibu firestorm destroyed hundreds of homes, including Young's.

Might have some sympathy if the fire destroyed all 13 of their homes, their fortune and their fame.

They should rebuild the entire state out of asbestos, problem solved!

I think you are confusing two fires. The Woolsey Fire is the one threatening all the celebrities' homes, but I don't know if it has killed anyone. The Camp Fire up near Sacramento and the Nevada border is the hellish one that I believe is now the deadliest in state history.

The wildfire was caused by a gender reveal party https://twitter.com/cnn/status/1067592410857795585?s=21 how very California!

Also my bad on confusing the fires.

Uncle TechTip

That seems to be in relation to a different fire in Arizona.

SORT YOUR FUCKING FIRES OUT.  RIGHT OUT.

up_the_hampipe

This thread will now just be about all fires.

I wish my house possessions and workplace were utterly destroyed by fire. I think it would be quite nice

Yeh, we could do a Huckleberry Finn in the Deep South, thereafter.

A videogame designer who I follow on YouTube uploaded his personal account of the Malibu fires, it is very interesting:

Save it for the Malibumming thread.
