Could be a black friday thread, or general, but lets post all the tasty game offers in here (maybe Barry could add his affiliate links to them?)

Uncharted Lost Legacy - £12 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Uncharted-Lost-Legacy-PS4-x/dp/B01LTI9IEA

PSVR starter pack including camera plus a couple of the best games pretty much available everywhere for £179.99 and with two Move controllers for £229.99. Pretty good when you think at launch it was £350 for the thing, £30 for the camera and £70 for the Moves and nae fuckin gems.

The Playstation Store seems to have a sale on at the moment. I got the combined Spider-Man DLC for 11 quid.

God of War being cheap for PS Plus subscribers - me! - is all I fancy.

Argos have Detroit Become Human for £13.99 - https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7648128

Is that worth getting? Ive heard mixed things but it looks better than your usual David Cage offering.

Just watch Limmy play and hate it for free on popular video aggregator YouTube.co.uk

Darling Crab,

Where did you find such a deal and is that a good price with the Move sticks, because £70 for what are essentially vaginal wands with a hen's eye on the top seems a bit pricey. Is there any chance they'll be updated for better hand grip/future gauntlet type things? Also, I was planning to get a VR starter pack for Christmas that comes with two games, one of which being Astrobot, the one about the gay robot. What other good games are there that would come in a deal? I hear Resident Evil is good but I have a soft heart and couldn't get through that horror movie pastiche with promiscuous  American teens (was it Dead Teen Sex Festival?).

I would also get Tetris because cascading geometric blocks speak a kind of truth to me. Also I like the effecs of drugs like Chairman BoDog pretends to, but current circumstances mean I'm hardly ever able to take them. Batman VR is also on sale at the moment so I might get that and look at it for the icon of it for the next five weeks. Any other VR games I should know about?  Has Why Don't You?: The Videogame come out yet?

Please, I need this.

That is vaguely tempting, but I have more questions: Are all games (first person ones anyway) compatible with the PSVR, or only certain ones? I notice there is a special VR version of Doom which leads me to think it's the latter. I imagine racing games would be ace in VR, but none of the ones I've got say anything about it on the cases.

Also, do you need a large room in which to play? One review I looked at pointed out that the PS camera's field of view was too small for it to keep track of the move controllers at the distance the reviewer was standing.

Cheers Special K, that's great.  I'll get that bundle with all of them in then and feed my children lint for the rest of their, possibly short, natural lives.

My brother says he already has a Move actually so I just need to get hold of another from a shop or something and we're good to go.

I can't believe this is really happening to me.  I'm as excited as The Boston Crab before a Nintendo Direct about resolved frameware issues, it is fucking brilliant.

P.S.

Superhot, which I've played on my brother's Occulus Rift and is great is on sale on the PSN store (they mean shop) for £12.  Astrobot is twenty quid and Batman is eight.  Capitalism is working, guys!

Yep. Only PSVR games.

I think you do. When I looked into it the fact I'd have no room put me off anyway. Someone with one should answer!

Timothy

You need a large room. Otherwise you have a small room with a huge amount of cables and not much room to move.

I'm sure it looks better, but at heart it'll be the usual ropey dialogue, meaningless choices and dubious sexual politics. The fact it's going that cheap so soon after release surely speaks measures?

Timothy

No. It was quite a good game. Would recommend it. Especially for that price.

Castro, great to see you my man, and you gave me two good laughs here.

I'd say Rez Infinite, Astro Blart, Tetris, Moss, Superhot and the brand new Beat Saber are the top tier and all very reasonable in terms of motion sickness. Resi and Skyrim are pretty amazing to inhabit but you will likely need to build up to them because that kind of movement is a killer for motion sickness. Wipeout is incredibly immersive but I can't last ten seconds without wanting to hurl. If and when I am able, that will be very special. Gran Turismo Sport is the best VR normal driving game but it's pretty rough, too, unless you stay in the middle of the track and drive slowly. Until Dawn Rush of Blood is a good ghost train kinda shooting gallery thing.

Claude, games have to be made for VR  it doesn't like convert stuff  You can use the headset as a regular flat screen like a cinema but it looks bad. YT VR is great though as well as pornography.

Nuts to that then. Mildly annoying, as I've got a bunch of racing games that would be great in VR - finally, the in-car camera wouldn't be completely stupid - but aren't compatible.

Timothy

When I bought my VR I was really looking forward to play Driveclub and Batman.

After a few weeks of being extremely nauseous and trying to get used to the VR I decided it was not for me. That and the enormous amount of annoying cables. Sold it.
When I see games as Rez, Astrobot or Tetris Effect I'm still tempted to try it again but the thought about how nauseous I was (for days!) after playing Robinson makes me reconsider.

Could have known though. Always was car sick when I was younger. It's just not for me.

7 Days to Die is currently on Steam for only £6.83.

Any good console bargains?

Check out HUKD. One X with a couple of top new games going for around £369. Pro for more like £299, I think. Well cheaper for the base versions.

madhair60

Smash Bros Ultimate pre-order + the Fighters Pass is £68 on south african eshop.

Queneau

Got a really old version of board game Risk in a charity shop for £2.99 the other day. The only downside, of course, is that some of that money will go to helping something or someone. I like to think the plotting and planning of world domination outweighs it.

Well, I wanted to pay £84 anyway

Speaking of PSVR, if anyone wants a free Playstation VR Worlds I have a spare code to get rid of (I know it's bundled now but it used to be sold separately).

Only went and bought the fucking thing, boys.

Because wanting is more satisfying than having I've spent the intervening hours reading up about PSVR games I had never previously heard of.
These are them.

Lost Bear (watch a delicate diorama unfold with the added benefit of not having to go to the theatre and support the arts)
Moss  (help a brave little mouse over some rocks like a benevolent, retarded giant)
Sparc (cricket in a ginnel)
Invisible Hours (Agonisingly Agatha, ITV3 during the Easter lull)
I Expect You To Die (like a locked room mystery from the Crystal Maze, the 90s' one not this modern self-aware shite, but without the danger of meeting an area manager in a jumpsuit)
Headmaster (they've isolated the best part of football, letting a ball hit you in the face, and turned it into a fun series of mini-games)

American teenagers seem to be going mental for Beat Sabre and that's a demographic who are rarely mistaken so I think I'll get that for Christmas and see if we can't finally finish Nana off.  I've also bought Superhot and Batman and my big brother has got me Tetris Effect.  As a rule I don't like to be blue but we're all fully pubic here, let's face it, so for masturbatory purposes I also highly recommend Titanic VR.*

Anything else I'm missing?  I'm hoping a few of the above will be on sale before Christmas.  Can't wait to get Young Dad Simulator 3000.

P.S. I forgot to mention/take into consideration the fact that I have recently broken my wrist and therefore won't be able to play anything at all for another month while the VR just sits there in the corner like dead happiness, mocking me and my human's greed, a glossed statue to folly.

*1,157 lives were lost.

AsparagusTrevor

Out of those I've only played:
I Expect You To Die - Great but short and sometimes frustrating. I would certainly recommend.
Headmaster - A good laugh and one of the best party games on PSVR. You don't need to use your hands which makes it suitable for injured wrists.
Moss - I've only played the demo, it was nice and charming and all but not really my style. The mechanics worked well.

Superhot is brilliant, you'll have a good time with that, it makes you feel like John Wick or Neo, or Ted. Batman VR is short (1 hour to 90 mins) but a good one-time experience and probably the best looking PSVR game. The sense of scale in that is awe-inducing, the Batcave feels huge and it's great seeing the bat-vehicles from the movies life-size in front of you.

--
On top of those I highly recommend Thumper, Until Dawn Rush of Blood, Job Simulator and of course Resident Evil 7 which in VR is the best gaming experience I've had in years. Also, Wipeout Omega Collection in VR is madness, just madness. Surprisingly no motion sickness.

Some lesser recommendations would be Megaton Rainfall which is basically a Superman simulator, Statik which is a tough puzzle game. Killing Floor Incursion is a decent zombie shooter.

Don't forget to download the free Playroom VR also, some good local multiplayer stuff on that.

--
I've just started Astro Bot Rescue which is a full game of one of the better minigames from the aforementioned Playroom VR.

gmoney

Pixel Ripped 1989 is a great, bonkers VR game that's a bit different from the usual, I heartily recommend.
