It's the first stop as soon as I get this bloody time machine built.
(It was going to be go meet Barbarella-era Jane Fonda, but my time machine dream has taken so long to happen that the Fonda - Me age gap has become eye-brow raising so Beatles rooftop it is.)

Aye, it was gifted to the band by Pete's mate Speedy Keen, who also wrote Something In The Air

Who was in Thunderclap Newman with Jimmy McCulloch who went onto be in Wings! It's all circles!

Imagine you watched a Bob Hope film, then had a really weird dream where he was doing a version of Rocky Racoon - it still wouldn't be as surreal as this  - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBg3tq4Hrx8

'kin hell, I've never seen this video before, or even heard this George song before! A nice look at Friar Park back in the day, Neil Innes being fab, a quick glimpse of a bearded Idle, and a sneaky Sgt Peppers pose.

Ooh, that's nice. I've only ever seen that on 9 millionth-generation VHS copy from that all-night Australian compilation that aired in the 80s (Rage?). Lovely to see it in crisp, clear form. And the Pantomime Princess Margaret makes a cameo at 3.15.

He did some good videos on the late 70s did George, that one is directed by Eric idle and there's another one in a court room that pokes fun at his plagiarism case.

When you hear all 4 of them happily jamming away at George's Something to try and make it work it dispels the idea that he brought the song to the beatles intact or that they weren't a tight, functional band at that time https://youtu.be/WLLM78R76sI

That's lovely stuff. I like how John and particularly Paul have a real grasp on the song and what it's meant to be so quickly.

Can't believe that camera man is having a nap during such a legendary gig.

"You wrote Something?" exclaims Jackson. "Ohhhh, I didn't know that. I thought Lennon and McCartney did that."

"Yeah," Harrison replies. "Everybody thinks that."

all the more surprising since by this time, jacko owned the publishing on the lennon-mccartney songs at least, & possibly this too.

No, this radio broadcast was 1979 and Jacko bought the songs in 1985.

George and his estate has always retained ownership of all his songs from "Sour Milk Sea" and the White Album onwards under Harrisongs
