Ordered this recently after Knifeworld/Cardiacs man Kavus Torabi enthused on Twitter about it being their best since Scary Monsters Some Girls Nothingface. I hadn't heard much of the band's stuff, but was generally aware of their presence and 'vintage' status.

It's really good! Full of warped riffing and catchy little bits and hooks, but also containing new things that pop out with every listen. I'm not exactly a metalhead, being more fond of rock of the wonky Cardiacs/Shudder To Think et al variety, but this is fun and something worth checking out if you're into any of that stuff.

My favourite is the ancient Killing Technology.

If you're not a metalhead but like this band, then I think Nothingface is well worth hearing!

Yup, ace band. Generally pretty consistent over the decades, although they went through a bumpy 00's phase re-purposing riffs left by founding member Piggy (who died in 2005) and hiring Jason Newsted as bassist. Since the latter left they've been much improved and "new" guitarist Dan Mongraine has brilliantly channeled his predecessor's unique stylings while adding his own thing.

Had no clue a new album was due so thanks for the heads up! Been enjoying this one:

And I've always loved the opening track from '93's underrated and more commercial The Outer Limits:

They're a band I've not really been into as much as I thought I might in the past, but I'm really digging some of this new stuff, so I'll need to try and dig out my copy of Nothingface later.  Away's voice seems to be even better these days.

That guy is a force of nature. Saw Voivod at Roadburn one year and one night they did a bunch of old stuff, covers and the like. They got the singer of Die Kreuzen on and did Man in the Trees - and yer man Mongraine utterly nailed Brian Egeness's scritchy, discordant guitar to an uncanny degree. Actually sounded far better than Die Kreuzen when they played RB the following year.

Dirty Boy

It's a belter, as is the fairly recent Post Society EP.
