Fair play to ' em for starting up a duo when they were both in their thirties , and at least one of them looking like that bespectacled  bloke in the glasses from Raw Sex in a wig.*

" Johnny Teardrop ", " Dream Baby Dream " and that one REM covered are all top tunes, too.

Killing yourself because your life's rubbish is a good thing too, orbviously.

( * Simon Brint, who carked himself in when he was 60. Just goes to show, It's never too late )

Alan Vega is the inspiration for my posting style

Some many options to change your life these days, might as well just do something else and start again in another country. We've got so much choice and opportunity as Westerners, and probably men and probably white. You can do so much more than most people, seems like a missed opportunity to top yourself when you're gonna die anyway. If I think that's it, off I go, I'll just book a ticket to another country and get a job there and eat some foreign grub and cop off. I'll soon change my tune. It'll be sound.

60ish seems a popular age actually: Robin Wiliams, Anthony Bourdain.

Perhaps a realization that the only way is downhill from here?

However, I also think it's a wasted opportunity to use the collected wisdom of those 60 years to create something worthwhile, especially if you have accumulated enough money to not have to worry about the day job.

Suicide (the group) influenced a lot of postpunk bands but it would need a better expert than me to list them.

Dominic Christ is a tune.

Got a cigarette?  GOT A CIGARETTE?!

Office discussion at Halloween: "HA HA, come on Thraxx!!!!!! You listen to weirdo music, play us something frightening HA HA".  So I spun them Frankie Teardrop; they weren't laughing after that, in fact they found it quite unamusing.  I haven't been asked to play any music since then.

Depends where you are I suppose.

For example, I just got back from Birmingham and if I had to live there i'd probably go full Kurt Cobain.

Yeah but where did you go?

So many people go to Birmingham and think that New Street is basically it.

if you're depressed, going to another country won't change a thing.

Actually the opposite is true. The internet means you can never escape your dark past, if you have one.

Well i literally went from new street to a lady's house ten mins away via taxi.

The drive there was grim.

So you decided to impregnate the breeder after all?

Funcrusher

Their second album is underrated.

Better to do things you enjoy and make the most of life.

Depends on the person and circumstances and nature of the depression, in fact. Don't assume one experience is universal.

Is that a threat?

Stupidest comment I ever read by the way.

Yeah it's a threat. Me and the boys are lacing up our Doc Martens and coming to get you.

Of course it's not a threat, you tit. It's just a statement of fact. The internet gives permanence to all of our public misdeeds.

Correction:

THAT was the stupidest comment I've ever read, Brainstein.

A smug manga avatar and a non-committal statement does not a clever man make. You are the one making a circus of yourself, over and over again. It will have to be the noose for you, Bosto.

The internet's not as permanent as you might think. Once Tumblr removes all of it's porn there will be no more naked pictures of myself online, for instance.

I read your comment and thought 'instead of engaging with this inane, facile received opinion, I'll engage in a very mild joke with the guy instead'.

No need to be so prickly, bud. We're standing on the same bank, tossing rocks onto a frozen lake.
