...I think the Megadrive alone has 80 games alone...

81 to be exact.  However, when you look at the list of games, it's quite obvious that there's some serious padding going on...

Adventure in the Park
    Air Hockey
Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
    Alien Storm
    Altered Beast
    Arrow Flash
    Black Sheep
    Bomber
    Bonanza Bros.
    Bottle Taps Race
    Brain Switch
    Break the Fireline
    Bubbles Master
    Cannon
    Checker
    Chess
    Columns
    Columns III
    Comix Zone
    Crack Down
    Cross the Road
    Curling 2010
    Decap Attack
    Dinosaur Puzzle
    Dominant Amber
    Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
    ESWAT: City Under Siege
    Eternal Champions
    Fatal Labyrinth
    Fight or Lose
    Flash Memory
    Flicky
    Gain Ground
    Golden Axe
    Golden Axe II
    Golden Axe III
    Hexagonos
    Hidden Agenda
    Hide and Seek
    Jack's Pea
    Jewel Magic
    Jewel Master
    Jura Formula
    Kid Chameleon
    Lost World Sudoku
    Mahjong Soltaire
    Meatloaf Rotation
    Mega Brain Switch
    Memory
    Mirror Mirror
    Mortal Kombat
    Mortal Kombat II
    Mortal Kombat 3
    Mr. Balls
    Mya Master Mind
    Naval Power
    Panic Lift
    Phantasy Star II
    Phantasy Star III
    Plumbing Contest
    Ptero Spotting
    Ristar
Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi
    Shining Force
Shining Force II: The Ancient Seal
Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master
    Skeleton Scale
    Snake
    Sonic & Knuckles
    Sonic Spinball
    Sonic the Hedgehog
    Sonic the Hedgehog 2
    Spider
    Super Thunder Blade
    The Ooze
    Virtua Fighter II
    Vectorman
    Wall-Breaking
    Warehouse Keeper
    Whack-A-Wolf
    Yawning Triceratops

Still, at least it has the fondly remembered and revered classic that is Yawning Triceratops, right?

From a scathing review over at Gamespot...

Quote from: Gamespot
In total, there are 28 unofficial games, 45 [Megadrive] games, and 12 games that appeared on either the Sega Game Gear or Sega Master System.  It's worth noting that if you add up the games based on individual browsing categories from the menu, you'll only count 42 games. This is because Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, and Mortal Kombat 3 were mistakenly left absent from the "Sega Games" category. It's a small oversight, but one that echoes the overall lack of attention to detail that plagues the system throughout.

Quite honestly, all of these mini-consoles are a complete rip off.  You'd be better served buying a half-decent PC and playing a virtually infinite number of classic games via emulation on that.

I second this motion.  A truly beautiful game.

Hey, and me! We should really bump that story-game thread because it has some bangers.

I’ll do my usual plug for the loveable but flawed British whimsy that is Contradiction: Spot the Liar! which is barmy fun. Halfway between cluedo and the crystal maze, and only about 4 quid when I got it on iPad.

I tried to buy Gran Turismo off Amazon and they accidentally sent me a VR system instead (with the £20 invoice for the game included in the box). I mulled over telling them then decided that no actually no fucking way am I going to do that.

So what games are good for virtual reality? I can't believe my dream as a 7 year old of holodecks and stuff is now real, sort of.

Nice one mate.

Astro Bot
Tetris Effect
Rez Infinite
Resident Evil 7
Wipeout
Moss

They're the bigger hitters.

The Sega in ones in particular are made by a third party company called At Games who are notorious for putting out poor quality tat, not really any better than something banged out from a Chinese sweatshop(and they probably are anyway).

There are numerous issues with things slowdown, bugs and bad sound, just really not worth it at any price.

I can only assume that site must've taken a huge bung from Sony to recommend the Playstation Classic at this point.

Aye, I recently gifted my Sister a £30 voucher and she happily informed me the next day that she'd used it towards purchasing the AT Games 81 game Megadrive.  I didn't have the heart to tell her, so I simply cooed and said "oh wow, that's great!".

It's a well worn cliché by this point, but if you're wanting a mini retro console, your best bet is a Raspberry Pi 3 B+. Chuck it in a nice case (the Retroflag ones are brilliant - http://www.retroflag.com), download a pre-baked SD card image, add a USB or Bluetooth controller of your choice and you're laughing.

I made one out of an old NUC and ubuntu plus retropie, works really well. You don't need to buy a raspberry pi, any old pc you have will do.

Just saw the word holodecks. Is that a Star Trek thing?

There is a Star Trek VR game that will make you pretty happy I reckon.
