Norman "dodgy microphone" Collier
I think he did a bit about winding a car window up and down too - though this is a variation on the dodgy microphone bit.
Also it might have been someone else.

Mike "Boring routine about sleepwalking" Birbiglia

EOLAN

Buster "doing stunts with trains" Keaton
Oliver "thinking he's smart but is actually just as dumb as Stan" Hardy

Lisa Jesusandmarychain

Eddie "Interrupting Syd and his quite sincere rendition of a lovely little song with impressions of Deputy Dawg, Kojak and Hilda Baker " Large.

Lisa Jesusandmarychain

Mort "Making lots of comments on society in a wry, intellectual way" Sahl

Lisa Jesusandmarychain

Roy "A lot ofswearing and 'blue' material and not liking immigrants" "chubby" "hugely untalented and unfunny cunt" Brown.

Josh "Says everything in an exasperated tone that rises at the end of the sentence" Widdecombe.

You are being too generous by affording him credit for having ONE joke.

Alan 'someone I dislike summed up by a witheringly reductive description' Comedian

There was at least a whole year in history when there was literally nothing on television except a stand-up comedian pointing out that Alanis Morissette doesn't know what the word "ironic" means.  "NO THAT'S NOT WHAT IT MEANS ALANIS; THE THING WITH THE FORKS WOULD ONLY BE IRONIC IF THIS."  Was it Ross Noble?  Anyway whoever it was, that observation is all he is forever.

It was Darlene from Roseanne.

Ed Byrne, wasn't it?

Yes. I once paraphrased it in a message to Richard Bacon on his evening 5Live show where he was confusing irony and sarcasm. He described it as "the best contribution of the evening".

The punch line of the routine that it is actually the most ironic song ever written as it is about irony but contains no valid examples of irony always amused me.

One joke comedians that I like? Is Jon Glaser always playing a version of the same character in everything he is in? Its a very funny character and he's got plenty of lines but its all a version of the same thing.

Gulftastic

Stanley Unwin.

My old Mum fucking hated him. She's change the channel if he appeared.

Depressed Beyond Tables

In fairness to Ed Byrne, he had two jokes. There was also the toilet paper routine.

Tairy_Green

Daniel "Something-whimsical-and-heartfelt, something-about-biscuits, says-cunt-a-lot" Kitson.

I love Daniel Kitson, just proving this can work for almost anyone

Stewart 'repeats things and mock midlife meltdowns' Lee.  I say that as a fan.

Depressed Beyond Tables

I would have gone for Stewart 'mixed ability room' Lee.

Also some posters seem to be missing the thrust of the thread title. Well done you.
