Many of the people I've been attracted to in my life remind me of my mother.

Or does your Mother remind you of the people you've been attracted to in your life?

Ahhhhhhh...

Are you mostly attracted to your sisters?

Not according to Google. And Google knows almost as much as Buzby does.

Bugger me, I found it in Smash Hits and I Am Wrong. I shall tweet Mr Ant as I think my version is better.

Wouldn’t a better solution be to turn the baby seat around so that the baby can be saved by the bag rather than crushed by it? Better from the baby’s point of view, of course; I’d personally find it hilarious to see its little slow motion face soaring towards a chair.
Rear-facing seats are used for really young babies as their heads are too large for their neck muscles to support properly. in the event of a frontal impact in a front-facing seat you run the risk of breaking a baby's neck.

In a related note, RAF transport aircraft always used to have rear-facing passenger seats in their cabins as crash impact survivability studies showed that they caused less injuries (particularly neck, back and chest injuries) than forward-facing seats. On a rear-facing seat the crash forced push the head and body into the headrest and seat cushion of the seat instead of throwing them them forwards against the belts as happens on a forward-facing seat. People don't like facing backwards while travelling though.

He clearly says 'peek-a-boo roots' on the record too

Lyrics sites are user-contributed like wiki, and are full of errors made by cloth-eared people.
I just listened and it sounds like become a ruse to me, although on repeated listens you can make it sound like either.

Surely this was part of the appeal of Mr Ant and his compatriots? As a ten year old I was able to happily sing along using my own lyrics - I still don't know what they all are and it was the second 7" I ever bought.

I always wondered what exotic kind of clothing 'scrutabyes' were. They were plural so they must have been trousers, socks or shoes, right? I thought they might even be the metal collar ends that C&W cowboys wear. Turns out Ziggy wore nothing of the sort and instead he was being racist...

It says 'Peek-a-boo roots' in the published sheet music:

In live performances he even waves his hand above his hair to illustrate it.

If you do a search for lyrics and you get a Google Music link back (normally the first link) they retrieve the lyrics from the music publisher databases:

I'm the dandy highwayman
So sick of easy fashion
The clumsy boots, peekaboo roots
That people think so dashing
So what's the point of robbery
When nothing is worth taking?
It's kind of tough to tell a scruff
The big mistake he's making

Alan Partridge picks the pseudonym Bill Car because as he says it he's staring at a bill car

Is a "bill car" something obvious that neither I nor Google have ever heard of?

Old Bill means police.

I think it’s a police car, what with the police being “Old Bill”.

Although I’m not sure Alan would have heard that slang.

I'm fairly sure he'll be aware of 'The Bill'....

The Bill is called The Bill because it's about The Old Bill.

Although I’m not sure Alan would have heard that slang.

Why not?

I found this, looking for its origin:

Quote
The London County Council at one time registered all police, fire and ambulance vehicles with the letters BYL The earliest documented usage traced by the Metropolitan Police Historical Museum is from 1970 and 'Partridge's Dictionary of Slang'. Without giving citations the book dates "Old Bill" from the 1950s "or perhaps earlier". So the term may possibly be post WWII.

And here's (Eric) Partridge's Dictionary of Slang: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Dictionary_of_Slang_and_Unconventional_English

Alan has totally heard “Old Bill” as slang. Depending on his mood, I could have seen the interaction with the police in which he gave his name as Bill Car starting with “well looky who we have here - Old Bill and his Billy mate”.

Like that, but funnier. I’m not a Gibbon.

Alan is obviously familiar with the slang "fuzz" for police, because that's what he calls Lynn's friend in IAP2 and  I'd say that's more obscure than "Old Bill". The "base your fake name on things you can see because you're under pressure and can't think of anything better" joke is a pretty common one too.

It does make absolute sense, my interpretation is that he said Bill because it's a common name and Car because he likes cars / was just driving a car.

And King Road became his address because he was stood by the road, and obviously The Police song King of Pain would have been familiar to him.

I'd go further and say that Old Bill is Alan's informal term that he sees as up there with Bizzies, Filth, Fuzz and Scum as being slightly subversive
