Xenomania have a new girl group and they are throughly mediocre.

Hmm, I'm not sure that r&bish sound remotely plays to Xenomania's strengths at all. Here's hoping later singles are better.

Urgh, that Glynne song stalks my existence

Emily King - Remind Me

A lot of the album moves further into a soul-led sound which isn't quite up my street, but this has a wonderful '80s R&B kind of vibe and a really catchy chorus.

I though Hannah Diamond was my thing.

But then a friend of mine who also posts on here spoted that Richard Dawson loves Hannah Diamond.

Fuck off to Stewart Lee as he's totally missed the point. So...

Watch till the the end.  Just so beautiful. It's stunning in its own right but also this:

Great, great pop. Look for the Hannah Diamond playlist on Spotify for more; but if not...

Completely obnoxious elements, but there are certain inflections that make it quite an interesting and enjoyable listen (Hi)

I honestly never know what to make of Hannah Diamond. Like a lot of the PC Music stuff, some of the hyper-meta plasticness rubs me up the wrong way.

Currently enjoying 'Babygirl' by Charli XCX a ridiculous amount. My Number 1 Angel / Pop 2 double LP probably gets more play than anything else in my modest vinyl collection.

Quite fond of some of the Charli XCX stuff actually. The video for 1999 is fun, they must have had a blast shooting that one. https://youtu.be/6-v1b9waHWY

Just stumbled across this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyVjEU2lKao
'Control' by Sadsun. Self-described as 'moody pop'. Lovely tune.

Bit late on this one but "Girlfriend" by Christine & The Queens is a proper belter, love those jazzy electric piano chords and the laid-back chillwavey vibe of the whole thing.

Norton Canes

She was Rebecca Taylor from Slow Club - she's now Self Esteem and she makes The Best pop music around

(and I suppose the video is mildly NSFW)

Oh wow, missed this when you posted it. Perfect stuff - of course, heavy Dam Funk vibes there, but so magnetic that track

Here he is with one of my faves, Nite Jewel

Quite like Lizzo's Juice. I had a listen through some of her back catalogue and it seems like good rap rather than pop. Although it looks like she's got another album on the way. One to keep an ear out for anyway.

Started with GFOTY and it's gloriously wacky

GFOTY is a friend of mine. My housemate produced some of her most recent stuff, most notably Boy Next Door. She's distanced herself from the PC Music lot a fair bit now since A.G. Cook and Danny L. Harle have moved on to working with bigger artists like Carly Rae, Tommy Ca$h and Charli XCX, and it seems she kind of just got dropped by them, which is somewhat understandable but also pretty sad at the same time.

Personally I've never been a big fan of her music (though she's super lovely) or much else of the PC Music stuff. I can see the appeal and a lot of it - especially from Cook and Harle - is immaculately produced but it's just a bit cold, albeit completely intentionally.

Talked about her on here, to little response...not a dud on the entire album.

Nice. Was chatting to friends last night about this thread and how its the tiny subtlties in pop women's voices that can make me love or hate someone. She has it just on the right side for me.

Tell her I'm a fan!

I feel the coldness in the production of stuff like Hannah Diamond is exactly what gives it its soul and charm. That vibes that gets me same way I can get teary listening to Kraftwerk and minimal techno; as Uwe Schmidt once wrote "Funk... it's what you don't play... it's the sound between the beats."

Then of course you just got a straight up bop like this:

Speaking of which have we all seen her new one yet? Video is out.

I turned 40 on Friday and spent the first couple of hours of my latest decade watching it on a loop with a half-bottle of vodka. Downhill from here.

Just gave the new Gesaffelstein album Hyperion a listen. Very disappointed with that given how much I loved his debut album. Maybe it'll grow on me but a lot or the tracks feel more like generic electronic instrumentals than fleshed out bits of music. Anyone else heard this one?

talk about bland..awful mess of an album

Girli - 'Fuck Right Back Off To LA' (nsfw, probably)

Really like this one, she released another one recently - Deal With It - that sounds a bit like that Icona Pop big hit but not as good.

Aye it's shit. I don't think it's possible for it to grow on me. I gave it a second go and it's even more nothing than the first time round.

Seriously guys this is the best CRJ video ever. I've literally listened to it it for last 3 hours** on a loop. * She's shat out another all time classic bop.

*ignores the alcoholic thread

**I'm not joking. I've just checked back and and i've watched it 24 times consecutively.
