In my town there is a Beltane festival featuring a fancy dress parade (which, fact fans, is mentioned in Ride a White Swan by T Rex, after Marc Bolan used to come to my town each year for the festival and view the parade which always featured this one person who would decorate their bike as a swan and ride it on the parade but this has nothing to do with the main point of this post and also this sentence is embarrassingly long so I'm going to shut up now). Yeah. So anyway, on this parade there used to be a group of people who dressed up as gollywogs (some people did last year as well I think), there was a bit of controversy over this and it got news coverage. For some reason Craig Charles reported on it, apparently he got really wound up because no one he asked thought there was anything wrong with it, so he called my town rascist and left.

Isn't 'Native American' a misnomer? Native means you were born in that place, which means that anyone born in America is native to it. They're not even indigenous to the States, as they came to the country from Asia.

I'm not sure we can judge the Cornish by our cultural standards, it's not as if they understand such concepts as 'racialism', i'd go so far as to say that the Cornish are in fact sub-human and we should widen the river Fowey or at least hang mirrors on nearby trees to scare them away from the banks.
