Calling somebody ugly is a base and lazy insult. But it depends on who that person is. If that person is a cunt without a vagina or who doesn't identify as intersex or female then I think it's okay. Linehan as a male writer with a platform who demonises a whole section of the community ( a cunt) can be called ugly.

My other contention is that the line is seemingly drawn when you insult somebody based on an attribute which they can't change. So looks are a no no but addictions, personality quirks etc are fine no matter how far they're ingrained. Or that the effort/skill in making that type of joke overcomes that line- taking Brydon making Herring is fat jokes in the RHLSTP thread.

I'm guessing it's because he was taking the piss out of men (I assume that's what he means when he wanks on about "beards") who don't like him or his stance. As I say, I don't think he's particularly abnormal looks-wise, and if I criticised anyone's appearance I'd be on thin ice myself.

Stepping in as someone who has not followed this whole thing, but...

Ah, what a shame. Really looks to me like Graham's had some kind of break down. Even if there was a point, buried there back in the day, this persistent beating his head into the wall is truly bizarre and a little sad. Going through his twitter it looks like a guy who's severely lost the plot.

We all have our issue where we lose perspective, but for him to bang the drum so long and so loud feels concerning to me.

Lienhan looks fine. Aging well, looks pretty much the same today as he did over 2 decades ago in I'm Alan Partridge. Still got a largely intact jet black moptop even though he's over 50. (Paul McCartney would be envious) His looks are the least of his worries. Not a worry in fact, it should be a point of pride how presentable he looks for a 50 plus man with very serious issues otherwise.
