First ever solo album by Ozric Tentacles founder Ed Wynne. As you'd expect it doesn't stray too far from the Ozric's formula, but I'd say it he does focus a bit more on his jazz and Zappa influences.

Can't stop listening to the mind-blowin psychedelic jazz-funk-rock wig out of Shim:

Another Ozrics fan, our numbers are growing on here.

Hopefully receiving this soon. I think that Ed and his wife Brandi have separated, which has put a spanner in the full band album works for now. But this should be of the same quality as the band albums. Nodens Ictus and Ed's son Silas have had albums out in the last year too.

Are you aware of Gracerooms Viero? He is a very talented Dutch artist who's style reflects the "modern" Ozric sounds, with other elements creeping in.

No he's new to me. Listening now, good stuff thanks.

Interview with Ed on the 10 Questions podcast https://peters-principles.com/2019/01/19/10-with-ed-wynne

"I don't remember exactly when I became aware of Ozric Tentacles, but it had to be somewhere between the late eighties to early nineties. A good friend and I ravenously dived into the collection of this truly unique group. Formed by guitarist/keyboardist Ed Wynne in 1983, Ozric Tentacles has churned out amazing soundscapes ever since.

"Soundscapes" is a description I use deliberately, because each composition takes you on a journey. It was with great pleasure in my conversation with Mr. Wynne that I learned that he too thinks of his music this way. He, in his own words, pictures traveling through an environment as if on the wings of a bird. It seems each piece of music is as much of an exploration for Ed as it is for the listener. This helps explain the prodigious output Wynne and his band mates have created over the decades, for wanderlust is never truly satisfied.

On the eve of the release of his solo album, Shimmer into Nature, I hope you enjoy this chat with a true musical adventurer."

thanks for that Special K.

edit: actually Peter posted on the Ozrics forum recently reaching out to Ed for the interview - didn't realise it was this one.

Ah! he mentions the Capercaillie sample (which is on my favourite album Sliding Gliding Worlds). I only found out that it was a Capercaillie recently.

Beautiful, didn't know about this album and have now ordered it, looking forward to hearing the rest.

On a similar tip I purchased the recent album by Nick Holden, of 'The All Seeing I' and sometime collaborator with Ott, over the weekend, but I've yet to listen to it properly.

Any idea which track that is?

I'm sure that it's on one of his albums as I've definitely heard a clean version of it, but I've just gone through all the ones I have (clicking snippets) and can't locate it.

Here are some highlights in the meantime
