I've always been very fond of this film and its odd mix of monster movie, docudrama, study of rural Americana and nature documentary. I've been waiting for years for a proper restoration and it's looking good:

Nice, but to me that's a film that feels like its best watched on a grotty 4th generation VHS copy.

Yes, I grew up watching my dads pirated VHS copy in the eighties. It was my go to film when off school ill.

I’m looking forward to seeing it restored and in full frame though. They should add a dodgy 4:3 pan and scan VHS version as an extra.

This was probably the only film I ever saw as a kid that gave me horrible nightmares afterwards - I think it was because of the claim it was a real story.
