^ I once trolled one of those scammers for a good 15 minutes before he hung up.  He told me that my 'windows' computer had a problem ... but I was using a Mac. Then commenced a confusing 15 minutes of wondering why I couldn't find the system parts/folders he was trying to get me to click on/in.
The reboots I did I made sure took ages too ... 'oh, it's nearly there ... it's probably slow because of the virus you mentioned'

My dad does that, and it's a fucking delight when he gets one of those calls because he lights up and hurries off to his computer, proper excited to waste the time of some scammer by pretending not to know where the keys are.

We had one of those porn blackmail emails in the spam folder in work today - brilliantly sent to a general address but written as if for a specific person, despite containing no names - and what baffled me was even if you believed it, why would you believe the claim at the end that if you pay, 'I will delete the video and you will never hear from me again'?
