This one focuses on the Tories neglect of civic pride, starting with May's constituency.

This is something Labour should be applying laser focus to as many conservative voters feel the same way. Restore the town square. Make it affordable for independent businesses, restore civic amenities, post office, swimming pool, town hall, library, get some events going. Cheer people up. The free market doesn't give a shit about any of that. It's just Can You Be Used? Yes/No

EOLAN

The electorate have short memories. But isn't the main Tory form of defence whenever questioned on economical/social issues is that ten years ago under a Labour government things were x/y/z.

Replies From View

A lot of people still believe the austerity myth and that Labour are ultimately to blame for the cuts that have taken place.  This is revealed when Labour promise to spend in certain ways and all the "magic money tree" narratives start coming out again.  And all the "magic money tree" stuff the Tories have done in the meantime to pay for the EU folly and the DUP are somehow forgotten.

No comment on the Tory triple whammy today?

Windrush data breach !! - admin error says minister in charge
Boris fails to declare financial interests (in time) - misinterpretation of rules says Bojo wearing gangsta rap wooly hat
New plans to clamp down on social media and internet sites - Not looking good for Puffin Party

It's all noise. They have neither the clout nor the will to 'clamp down' on businesses that employ people and can easily relocate to Romania or India.

QuoteThe Conservatives have been dragged into fresh controversy over Islamophobia after it emerged self-professed party members have been discussing how they could prevent Sajid Javid becoming prime minister.

Tory supporters who claim to be members of the party have attacked the home secretary online for his Muslim background and pledged to back another candidate to prevent any potential leadership bid he might make.

The social media posts, reported by Buzzfeed News, prompted the chairman of the Conservative Muslim Forum to call on the party to do more to promote inclusivity.

One man wrote on Facebook that he had joined the party to help install a Brexiter leader, adding of Javid: "Britain is not ready for a Muslim PM, that would be taking the absolute piss out of the country."

The comments made on Facebook by 20 the self-professed Tory party members are part of a batch unearthed by the anonymous @matesjacob Twitter account, which has been exposing Islamophobia.

Surprised they don't use their trunks to be honest.  Or have a hollow space inside each tusk.

QuoteAcademic Roger Scruton has been fired as a government housing adviser after an interview in which he claimed George Soros had an "empire" in Hungary and that the word Islamophobia was "invented".

"Anybody who doesn't think that there's a Soros empire in Hungary has not observed the facts," Prof Scruton told the New Statesman, in a manner the magazine called "heedless of the antisemitic portrayal of the philanthropist George Soros as a Jewish puppet-master".

...

Within hours of the interview being published on Wednesday, the
A Board of Deputies spokesperson said: "As soon as we saw Roger Scruton's unacceptable comments we contacted the government to make our concerns heard.

"We are satisfied the right decision has been made to dismiss him."

QuoteBoard of Deputies President Marie van der Zyl has claimed in an Israeli TV interview that Jeremy Corbyn has "declared war on the Jews".

...

Asked how the British Jewish community was feeling, she added: "We are feeling nervous, we are feeling anxious – it's like Jeremy Corbyn has declared war on the Jews at home.

"We've never been in this situation, it's unprecedented."

Great. So they totally undermined the trustworthiness of their first judgement with the second one. That'll end well in the long run.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Appalling but nothing more than you'd expect from an arch-right wing ethnostate advocate.

Ah, good spot. Maybe it's a sign things are changing at the JC.
