I don't think the fact that I never did that was down to any real form of moral code, I've just always been quite timid and not the type to showboat in front of classes of people. It's funny to think about how I'd look back on World War II when I was in school and wonder how anyone could have let such appalling ideas get any access to power. Then you look around now at the fact that everyone's openly chatting white supremacist views and being welcomed on the BBC and celebrated online and defended all over the place with 'it's not racist to think white people are better and we have to stop black people and Muslims invading, because they're worse'... and you realise 'oh - they just did'.
