Haven't heard anything about that I'm afraid. I turn off all deadzone settings but you could increase the default ones, for starters, might stop the stick drift.

Ham Bap

Not having any issues on PS4.

Barry Admin

Just finished the apparel event, you get another item for opening all thirty caches. Seems you get a key every two levels or so, and then there's the projects that give you three also. Some nice weapon skins and stuff in there.

QDRPHNC

Haven't had a run at the Black Them yet, just saw them setting up shop. It's an interesting endgame move for sure.

Barry Admin

It really is great! Specialisations to grind out, too.

Edit: and I didn't realise this, but now that you're grinding out gear score, the game actually drops gear depending on what your maximum gear score COULD be at that moment. In other words, I was changing my gear constantly but that's not necessary, the drops go by gear you're holding, rather than gear you have equipped at that moment!

Regarding technical stuff, although there are a few problems (like skills still being broken), they've done an amazing job with so much of it. For instance, I got disconnected near the end of a mission and didn't relish doing the whole thing again. Reconnected and I was right back in the mission, exactly where I had been.

Never have to bother with matchmaking either. If I'm set to open group, the game just automatically drops people in with me as I start more challenging content. All seamless and brilliant.

On that note, I've even been able to solo Challenge mode for the dailies - the game really does come alive when you're in a squad, as there's way more enemies to deal with, plus people to revive etc.  Amazing to see how many players with 500 gear score don't run cover to cover, mind.

The sniper build I'm putting together is fun, but the enemies flinch a LOT when you're in a group and bullets are flying everywhere, so I'm going to start putting AR and SMG builds together now too.

Mobius

Yeah you don't have to equip your highest GS items, just keep hold of them to increase your average GS, and therefore the chance of higher GS items dropping.

Any love for the LMG? My favourite gun, The 100 ammo ones are great, just raining a hail of bullets for what feels like ages. There's a few mods to increase optimal range so you can mow people down from a fair distance.

How do you check how many SHD tech caches you have or if you're missing any? Not sure if I've got those unmarked ones near the White House.

What skills do you guys use? I have the Reviver Hive which I've never actually used/deployed, I just like the auto-rez function. And I use the basic machine gun turret. Really good against basic red enemies and helps with enemies trying to flank you. I haven't really tried many others, did switch my turret to the mortar one (which you unlock via Demolitionist) but didn't like having to manually select where it fired.

Barry Admin

Yeah LMG is good, I just always love sniping but have sometimes taken LMG as my secondary.

Shade Tech, I dunno, I just look ok the map and go by what projects say I need them in which areas. I've most of them collected now and most skills unlocked. This far I've mostly stuck with reviver hive and chem launcher that fixes armour. Feel a bit constricted tbh as they're just so good! When I'm not solo, I like to switch reviver for a drone or turret, still not tried the shield or many other skills.

I've fully maxed out Sharpshooter, and although demolitinist seems the best in terms of damage, I'm gonna try the crowsbow for a bit.

I started my second character, partly to hold more gear! But mostly to experience the story again. It definitely is class seeing the contrasts in all the undeveloped settlements when you're just starting out.

Barry Admin

I also am dying to reinstall Division 1, but don't want to burn myself out! Survival mode was sooo good though, and wasn't Underground also random/procedurally generated? Man I can't wait for all that stuff to come to D2.

QDRPHNC

Yeah, underground was procedural - I just wish some of them had lasted longer.

Got up to WT3 after you logged off last night, Barry. Will try to crack 4 this evening.

QDRPHNC

Just discovered airdrops :)

Ham Bap

Still loving this but first time I had to quit out of a mission with randoms today.
The Capitol Building Stringhold Mission. Right at the end you get cornered from all sides and have to camp down in a small bit and every person cover every side. But people were running around all over the place and getting gunned down leaving everyone else isolated, then getting gunned down.

Then someone's internet connection kept dropping or they keep quitting as they were quitting out of the mission. The more people in your team the more the game throws at you.
So it was just a clusterfuck. Everyone getting continually massacred as people were running off in opposite directions. Grenades and fire raining in.

Done it in next attempt with a better set of randoms.
Up to World Tier 3 now.

Can't remember what you call it, but you know the level when you have to destroy the boat at the end? Some randos and I did it on hard yesterday, fucking brutal, we must wiped out 5 times. Took us about 2 hours just to get through the last bit. Still, they were a good bunch of lads, we kept our good humour, like people who were really at war did.

I love the difficulty in this game, it is uncompromising. It'll fuck you up hard for not thinking ahead.

Roosevelt Island Stronghold.
It's tough that one, a nightmare at the end!

Barry Admin

I'll probably be back on tomorrow, taking a wee break again to play Assassins Creed.

Mobius

Yay finished the apparel event thingy.

I'm smashing out my projects every day but feel like I'm not getting much blueprints. I'm at 500 gearscore, still stumbling across phones and collectibles. Love just running around with no real purpose, getting into fights and looting stuff.

Ham Bap

Up to World Tier 5 at the weekend. Have the Chatterbox Exotic at gear score 500, which I sorta came across by accident just by grinding away. Wasn't really trying to get it then if all the parts and the blueprint to upgrade.

Mobius

I haven't got any exotics :(

Feel like I need to put some time aside to do all the Hunter stuff, and apparently there's a few secret bits in main missions like interacting with certain computers throughout the mission.

I dunno I just like roaming around really, trying not to get dragged into stats and builds cus that sort of stuff usually kills the fun

Mobius

Anyone still playing this?

Bored now. Bored of dismantling 99 of every 100 items I loot. Bored now, not much to do other than the same shit over and over.

I know the game is fairly new but it's the same as Division 1, so why repeat the same mistakes? Same as Destiny 2.

Ham Bap

Still playing, enjoying it for the most part but sorta doing the same things over and over again.
Also dismantling or selling 99% of stuff.
Currently have 225,000 E-Credits from selling.

The next big update, update 3 is coming out next week though I think it's not adding any new content mainly rebalancing:
https://news.ubisoft.com/en-us/article/349436/the-division-2-state-of-the-game-recap-gear-score-loot-drops-npcs-pvp-and-more-5-8

The Raid will be out in 2-3 weeks time I'd guess at.

I'm still having good fun on it and have played 150 hours plus and every day since I got it so have had more than my money's worth.

QDRPHNC

Yeah, I ended up getting bored with the Division (the first one). It's inevitable, isn't it, with this kind of game? Reddit goes mental over the lack of "endgame", but what else can the developers do? At some point you've done everything, seen everything, and have no choice but to do it some more if you want to continue playing.

Related somewhat, I was ruminating today that we are kind of spoiled with video games in 2019. I remember when I was 7, my mum came home with a gift for me, which was Ghostbusters on the Spectrum. It was the first game that cost 10 quid.

Today, that's about 33 quid. The Division 2 is 45 quid at Amazon. So think on THAT, imaginary audience.

Mobius

Think there's some patch today that'll fix a load of shit

Ham Bap

Update 3 has dropped.
The Raid is coming on Thursday.

QDRPHNC

No matchmaking for the raid. Oof.

No matchmaking for the raid. Oof.

Yeah I'm done with this shit until they flesh it out

Need to stop buying these sorts of games on Day 1

Ham Bap

Can understand why no matchmaking for The Raid after watching a stream of it here on and off.
7 hours in and they're still going after a lot of deaths and this is 'professional' streamers who have been playing the game solid for 8-12 hours since its release at the start of March.

No chance I'll be doing the raid either.
I've put 200 hours in but I wouldn't have the patience for it.

Thursday

I mean, it was silly to promise matchmaking for the raids, the fact that they did made me think they'd be relatively simple and wouldn't require anything approaching the level of communication you'd need in a Destiny raid... but it did, and so quite understandably, they realised it would never work.

And 6 players is already pushing it too far for most people, so 8 is going to make it even more unlikely.
