Yeah it was really bizarre.  Majid Nawaz was having meltdown on LBC earlier, pleading with people, liberal minded people, to ban this Corbyn chap as he is really bad apparently for saying Assange shouldn't be extradited to the US.  He wanted to tell people that if you are liberal then you are not left-wing (Cheers Majid that is what we have been saying) an important distinction that he implored people to notice, and too think careful about how they could sing someone as terrible as Corbyns name at Glastonbury.  He then alluded to AOC being bad but not as gaffe prone as Corbyn. This was all a big setup to introduce the discussion about AS again to which he kept alluding to this tape in which Corbyn admitted there was a problem with AS in the Labour party.

Nawaz is one of the worst people ever.  You just have to listen to his show and read his tweets and compare the amount of time he spends attacking Labour for AS to the time he spends attacking the Tories for I. Or just look at his smearing of Ilhan Omar as an AS. He's a snake.

Odd that she would choose to meet a random, tiny remnant of the labour party isn't it?

Seems apt:

Quotea small minority of people who will remain faithful to God (Tony Blair) and so be saved (in allusion to biblical prophecies concerning Israel).

Quote from: The Morning StarJewish women who signed a letter to the Guardian objecting to its "standard failure" to check or challenge allegations of Labour Party anti-semitism are calling for complaints to the newspaper for refusing to publish it.

Signatory Julia Bard, who is active in the Jewish Socialists' Group, said over 200 Jewish women had signed a letter complaining about the article "Just Close Them Down: Margaret Hodge on anti-semitism in Labour's branches."

"Mostly the article was old stuff rehashed, and it was characterised by the standard failure to check Hodge's allegations," she said.

The letter complains that while Ms Hodge asserts that anti-semitism has been "given permission to come into the mainstream and, like a cancer, is infecting and growing throughout the party," she "provides no evidence of such horrific wrongdoing by Corbyn."

QuoteLETTER FOR PUBLICATION SUBMITTED TO GUARDIAN March 10 2019

We, all Jewish women, are baffled, hurt and infuriated by your unquestioning coverage of Margaret Hodge's campaign against Jeremy Corbyn ('Just Close them down: Margaret Hodge on antisemitism in Labour's branches', March 9). Hodge extends her allegations that Corbyn is an 'antisemite and racist' under whom antisemitism 'has been given permission to come into the mainstream and, like a cancer, is infecting and growing through the Party'.

Hodge provides no evidence of such horrific wrongdoing by Corbyn, nor by 'mainstream' Labour members. Her own submissions to the Labour Party certainly don't do the job: General Secretary, Jennie Formby reported that Hodge's 200 complaints comcerned 111 individuals, of whom only 20 were actually Party members.

Hodge's demand that the Labour Party close down entire branches for supporting Chris Williamson MP, or for rejecting the IHRA antisemitism document, also passes unexamined.

Yet Williamson presents a legitimate critique; Labour's response to antisemitism accusations has been unnecessarily defensive, he said, not that it has been 'too apologetic about antisemitism' itself. Meanwhile, no mention that the IHRA document has been shredded by two QCs, plus Jewish human rights specialist, Sir Geoffrey Bindman and Jewish retired Lord Justice of Appeal, Sir Stephen Sedley.

All signatories to this letter grew up in the shadow of the Holocaust. We know we must maintain eternal vigilance against antisemitic resurgence. But we also celebrate our Jewishness, especially the disputatiousness (pace our aphorism: two Jews three opinions) central to Jewish identity. We are terrified by Margaret Hodge's attempt to hijack our history and rewrite our identity and by unwillingness to investigate, fact check and challenge her allegations.

My bold.

I think we're in danger of wanting it both ways. I think those women should be heard, but so should the 77% of British Jews who think Corbyn and Labour are AS. Why do you dismiss or ignore the concerns of the latter but want to promote the former?

From this, I gather the Chareidi Jewish community supports Corbyn (apparently they have a 70,000 strong community in Britain) .

I don't know how you can say you know what people think.  And even if you were able to say this thing, it's not about what people think, it's about what's true.

According to Jenny Formby's report, Margaret Hodge has made (at least) 200 complaints of antisemitism in the Labour Party, against 111 people, only 20 of whom are actually Labour members.  If Hodge were suing people or making allegations of sexual misconduct or reporting police officers, do you think she'd be treated as a vexatious litigant?  I think so.  How is it reasonable to complain about a complaints system when you are knowingly overloading it with obviously false complaints (false because whether there is any truth in them or not, a large number of them are clearly against people who are not Labour members).

And yet The Guardian is giving this privileged powerful woman a megaphone to shout down ordinary people and continue making unfounded allegations.  It's shameful.

Socialists do NOT TOAST BUNS.

In fact I don't even call them Hot Crossed Buns, I call them NOT TOASTED BUNS because that is their defining feature.

Plus it's more respectful to the baby Jesus to leave the crosses unwarmed, just as God made them.

king_tubby

Hot Cross buns are antisemitic.

You know the raisins in hot crossed buns yeah

Well they represent Jesus shitting himself during the crucifixion scene.

That photo's great. The guy sat on his own in the corner, the aforementioned untoasted hot cross buns, those photo-bombing Labour mugs at the back, the (unused?) tea bags crammed in to a couple of tea cups in the foreground, Corbyn's tiny Black 'n' Red notebook and all that clutter (yet no sugar) on the table. I couldn't focus sitting at that scruffy table. Then there's the 'confidential' papers on display.

There's another detail. On Pelosi's side, all white men, Corbyn's side, mix of race and sex.

And no butter! How can you have your hot cross buns without butter?

Who are the scary Mormon-a-likes at the head of the table?

He has certainly gone even more cray-cray since I last listened to him.  Forget about his seemingly lesser concern for racism in the Tory party he can't seem to go five minutes without being a massive hypocrite.  Some guy phoned in to say that he was misrepresenting Corbyn as the Times piece (very peculiar piece indeed) didn't prove that Corbyn said there was "a problem in the Labour party with AS". Nawaz then quickly tried to pull some straw man where he tried to force the caller into some silly dichotomy along the lines of is Corbyn inciting Antisemitism by calling Jew Killers "friends", thankfully the chap was wise enough to not fall for all of his "logic bomb" traps (of James O'Brien ilk), and just called him out and said i'm not playing your game.

The call ended with Nawaz shouting "shame" at him for not agreeing with his false premise.  It all a bit mad on LBC at the moment to be fair, their faux leftist schtick seems to have backfired somewhat with the appetite for real leftism growing but them seemingly incapable to provide it.  Seriously, I know people get annoyed regarding the mentioning of LBC but you need to know what you are dealing with and the level of cynical hackery they employ.  Even on a non-political level they are just down-right rude to their callers if they highlight the very obvious hypocrisy in what they say.

Now Corbyn's a cunt because he doesn't want tots to have to sit unpleasant and irrelevant exams!

What a rotter. Who is Siobhain McDonagh MP? Cos she appears to be an arsehole.
