McChesney Duntz

Yeah, I probably said too much in not saying anything, eh? Oh well...

biggytitbo

I presume the spoiler is he rewrites the real life ending of the Tate murders so somebody saves them? Entertainingly bad taste i'm sure but seems somewhat like a retread of inglourious basterds.

The Inglourious Basterds NEVER retreat!

I hope they feature the porno starring Yul Brynner and Peter Sellers that was filmed at Polanski's house.

Hadn't heard this particular rumour before - a bit of googling throws up a Manson quote about the pair "gobbling on each other's nobs in a closet". Quite an image.

Ballad of Ballard Berkley

You've got to hand it to old Quent when it comes to his soundtracks, Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show by Neil Diamond is a perfect choice of song for a film about (or somewhat about?) Charles Manson.

Subsequently pretty much proven to be total bullshit I believe.  As with most of biggy's conspiracy theories.

Ohh you! We had this argument before, I think it's credible, albeit unproven. Like a lot of things in the Tate/Labianca murders.

Neil loved Manson didnt he, thought he was going to be a star. Guess he was right!

Confirmed by Dennis Hopper who was totally mashed off his box on drugs, Manson who was totally mashed off his bonce on mentalness, a PI who was almost certainly having the juice taken out of him by the local fuzz, and at least two of the alleged stars of the alleged film not even being in the country at the time the alleged film was allegedly shot.

Yes, DEFINITELY credible...

But you think that the faked moon landings are credible.  I'm more inclined to believe that if you say something is credible, then it's a load of wishful nonsense.  Then again, they do say that even a broken clock is right twice a day, I suppose.

How do you know what the various dates are of things we don't know very much about? I mean obviously it could just be an outlandish rumour, there are lots of them about, but then I'd have thought that about Richard Pryor and Marlon Brando 'gobbling on each other's nobs' a few years ago.

Shaky

I would imagine it's not true but that still doesn't scrub the picture from my mind. The Gunslinger and Inspector Clouseau going at it in a wardrobe. Wonderful.

Elderly Sumo Prophecy

Just checked the run time. 2 hours 45 minutes. Fucks sake, he really needs somebody around him to say "too long mate" occasionally.

PlanktonSideburns

Seems a bit stale now we have Craig zahler making stupid upsetting exploitation garbage with down and out actors, this mansion thing sounds like a desperate attempt to add some publicity edge to his sad little dicaprio pajama party

It depends on the film really though, doesn't it?  There's films which I love that run for 3 hours and the time just flies on by.  There's also films which clock in at 1 and a half hours that feel like an absolute eternity.  You have to judge it on a case by case basis really.  A film only feels like a slog if the pacing is off and/or it's a load of old bollocks.

Yep.  If I may use a very personal and subjective opinion to illustrate and back that up - Battleship Potemkin only runs somewhere between about 66 and 75mins (depending on what speed it's shown at), but feels like it lasts for fucking days.  Tarkovsky's original cut of Andrei Rublev runs 205mins but absolutely whizzes by.

Similarly, the scene in Get Hard where Kevin Hart is recreating life in the prison yard but goes on for months.

I'm planning on watching it at the cinema. After about two hours my skinny arse gets a bit numb, so i have to get up and have a walk about, so I'll end up missing some of it.

I'm not sure that directors altering their intended vision, simply out of sympathy for your bony arse is something I'd care to see.  Get some beefburgers down you or something, Slim Jim.

PlanktonSideburns

Maybe take two Burgers with you, slide one under each cheek.

Can even have them as a snack in the third act

Sorry it's tarrantinio isn't it? Between the 5th and 6th act

When Michael Beck and Sho Kosugi have a twenty minute conversation about 50s beach party films - that's the time to have a wander.

He's no Steve Buscemi.

"I love the Beach Boys!!"

Always the best thing in an Adam Sandler film.

Woo mama. I'm not sure if it's real but there's a "plot" on the wiki page for this now.

bgmnts

I read Tarantino's tenth film will be his last won't it? They're marketing his films like that now. Imagine if it ends on Star Trek.

I posted that in a duplicate thread a while ago. 'Kinnell, it really is something, isn't it?
