Bumping to say that tickets are available for Frank's big tour later this year http://www.frankskinnerlive.com/

It's his first tour since the Man In A Suit run, which was fairly good, I thought. Got myself some front row tickets, looking forward to it.

I've been going through his old stand-up shows, including the pretty awkward Bloomsbury Theatre show in 1992. Quite a spooky routine about Rolf Harris being a prisoner, including a prescient joke about his Two Little Boys song https://youtu.be/bxoNL_XdlHE?t=1020

Hoping he does a Fringe run, as he did just before Man In A Suit.

Skinner is still the sharpest comedian I've seen.

Utter Shit

Going to see him in Brighton, really looking forward to it. Saw the last tour at the Leicester Square Theatre, as brilliant as ever. He's probably my favourite ever comedian but I find his earlier stuff from when he was a superstar difficult to watch. He just comes across as a bit of a cunt. The older Frank still has the ability to come out with some really offensive stuff, but there's so much more charm to it. It feels like the joke's on him, rather than anonymous women.

I've watched all of his old shows this weekend, and I think it's the crowd he drew that misrepresented him. He seemed fairly likeable and when it tipped into potentially seedy and offensive territory, there was still enough playfulness to pull it back. The self-deprecation was always present in all of his filthy stories. Don't think I got the sense he was being a nasty misogynist at any point.

mr. logic

I like him, but on his podcast he does have an annoying tendency to talk like he's the only person in Britain that reads books.

D) He had a good go at Stewart Lee in his Man in a Suit stand up

What was that?

Eh, he doesn't really, he's always rated Stewart Lee. It's not specific to Lee either, just mainstream vs. alternative comedy. This is the bit anyway https://youtu.be/MfjmriMn_vc?t=4440
